Canal Street Chronicles We got the matchup we wanted

Maybe it was the euphoria from Saturday night.  I was in New Orleans for the game this weekend and to share my passion with Saints fans was so special. The entire city has become the 12th man, everyone had a jersey, t-shirt or hat on. There was such a different environment from New Jersey where I live currently. Even during the Giants superbowl,  there was not the vibe that I felt throughout this weekend in the Big Easy.  I think that we are now on the same level as Green Bay Packers fans where the entire city follows the highs and lows of our Saints.

As I depart the Crescent City, I just want to say to all local Saints fans, it was proud to be part of you this weekend. I will carry the city in my heart and will cheer like crazy from my home next Sunday as we take the next step in this fabulous journey with our wonderful, exciting, and talented football team..

Canal Street Chronicles The 12th man will be the key

The dome has be rocking Satuday at 4:30, an enviornment has to be created that is so hostile and troubling for Arizona to communicate. We have experienced playing against Warner in our home stadium in the be past. I think that the crowd noise is giong to be very key.

We cannot panic during the game if we get down, we have to be loud and proud, so lets get ready to RUMBLE!!! Saints fans rise up.

WHO DAT!!!

Canal Street Chronicles Its better when we are the underdogs

As many have posted, the majority of the national media and the other football fans out there feel as though the Saints best days are behind them. The boast about how the 3 losses  are a result of team that is tired and out of gas.

This is the same feeling that I felt when the season started. No one believed in the additions on defense, new coordinator, and healthy TE would lead us to a better year. We got off to a great start and played our best football against the best teams.

I think that next Saturday, the team we saw in the beginning of the season will return. Our corners are healthy, our DL is more experienced, and we will be ready to rock and roll.

I will be watching very closely this weekend to see who we play, lets get excited Saints fans, but keep it to ourselves, as the role of the underdog has returned.

Canal Street Chronicles In 2 Weeks We play our SuperBowl

The loss last night hurt, I said before that a team was going to have to score 30 points in order to beat us and that is exactly what happened. If you have told me before the game that we would hold AP under 50 yards rushing and lose, I never would have believed it. The losses this year have been very painful because we are a 3rd and 1 conversion (at Washington) and 2 missed field goals away from being 5-0.

In regards to last night, I have two thoughts, one is we have to get a kicker in here. Whether it is Michael Vanderjagt (I know I misspelled his name) or Morton Anderson or Carney after Tynes comes back, we need someone here we can rely on. Second, If i have to watch a deep ball thrown with Jason David in coverage in a Saints game again I am going to go bananas. Either he covers slot receivers or he has to be cut. I would rather have seen Usuma Young anyway over Jason David.

This loss means that Carolina next week is going to be very critical. We need to make sure that Colston and Shockey are ready to play, hopefully Porter's wrist is not too bad, and that we have our kicking situation figured out before we head into that game. With the NFC East being stacked, winning the division becomes a priority.

I still have not lost faith, we have showed fight and grit especially since we have not played up to our best. If Payton please get this team to hold onto the football and cut out the stupid penalties, we should be straight.

Canal Street Chronicles We have to build on this win

I know, I know it is the NFC West, but we beat a good team yesterday. They had all of the ingredients for a team that gives us trouble. A great running attack, an accurate QB who can throw on the run. A very fast defense with a deep secondary.

We were beat-up at many positions, however this year, we are really explosive, when we run the ball at least enough for the defense to be threatened, we are all but unstoppable on offense.

Now, we enter our first primetime game, against a team that was heralded to compete for the title. We need to go in and show the nation that we have the best QB in football, we can score on anyone, and you have to score 30 points to have a shot to beat us.

Last year, we were so inconsistent, we beat team like Jacksonville but lost to Houston. We are home, the Dome is going to be rocking', it is a statement game because we have to stay within 1 of the Panthers and Bucs. Let GO SAINTS!!!

Canal Street Chronicles Why Does Gibbs Get a Pass

My fellow Saints fans,

We are truly focusing on the wrong side of the ball, the issue is not Payton's play calling, Deuce vs. PT, or pass vs. run on 3rd and 1.

The issue here has to do with the DEFENSE. Payton thought the defense played well, Is he crazy!!  We have one of the most expensive defensive lines in football and we strike fear into no one. If we lost SF this week it will be due to the defense not the soldiers we are missing on Offense.

I guarantee you that we are going to see a large does of Gore this weekend and if we give up big plays and allow another for NO QB to carve us up I am going to be sick!!!
