revisit of my preseason storylines
questions from the original article: http://www.ganggreennation.com/2010/7/19/1577582/intriguing-storylines-of-2010-jets
1: Can Mark Sanchez limit the INT numbers and lead the Jets to the promised land?
So far so good, only 2 picks.
2: Will the Jets finally take down the favored Colts, who defeated the Jets in the AFCCG last season, as the team to beat in the AFC?
Half accomplished, we do got a better record, but we gotta finish the deal in January!
3: Does LaDainian Tomlinson have much left in the tank?
a lot apparently. 42 runs, 490 yards, 5 TDs.
4: Does Jason Taylor have much left as well?
13 tackles, 3 sacks, so far he's ok
5: Will the Jets avoid breakdowns in late games that was their downfall vs Atlanta, Jacksonville, Miami et al.?
like i said in storyline 1, so far so good. last year's teams would have choked @ miami and vs minnesota probably.
6: Santonio Holmes is supended for the 1st 4 games, will the receiving corps step up while he's gone?
Dustin Keller & braylon edwards with a resounding YES!
7: Can the defense be even better than last year?
W/O a healthy revis island we dropped to 8th in total D and 15th in passing D, as we were 1st in both categories last season.
8: Shonn Greene is the feature back, and will be sharing carries with LT, will he hopefully stay healthy?
Other than a costly fumble vs Ravens, he's been good but man has LT outshined him or what?? Jeez
Of course the season is still young but 5-1 and best record in the NFL is still 5-1 and best record in the NFL and i'm enjoying the ride 1 game at a time. go jets! Beat Green Bay this Sunday!
Crawford getting drilled in the babymaker. That's gonna leave a mark.
Welcome Back Albaladejo!
Jonathan Albaladejo will be activated when Pettitte goes on d.l. today. He was 2-1 with 0.96 ERA and 31 saves at Scranton.

2010 FA season: FAILURE FOR THE NETS
Nets let Amare Stoudemire walk to the New York knicks, Chris Bosh go to Miami Heat, and now Carlos Boozer to Chicago Bulls.
Nets better get LeBron James or I won't even bother follow the FA season no more.
What a disappointing FA season for the Nets. What a crusher. I don't think my heart can take these players owning the Nets any longer. Let's pray to God he comes to to Nets! And that our players step up.

[Comment From Aaron]
Any more talk of the Devein Harris for Granger trade rumors that surfaced during the draft? I know that would leave NJ short at the deadline, but couldn't they hypothetically then go after Bosh and one of their pgs (Calderon, Jack) in a sign and trade? If that were to happen, that'd give NJ a starting lineup of PG Calderon, SG Granger, SF LeBron, PF Bosh, and C Lopez. CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM!

Chad Ford, ESPN Insider:
If the Nets don't land LeBron, this could be a back-up plan for them. Sign a free agent with cap space, swap Harris and Favors for Granger and then fill in with a guy like Calderon at the point. They'd be much, much better.
Chad Ford, ESPN Insider:
That's assuming Indy would even trade Granger. I'm not sure they would.

Update: Chad Ford speculates Amare Stoudemire and Rudy Gay goes to the Nets, and LeBron James and Joe Johnson goes to the Chicago Bulls.
Gardner Day-To-Day
LOS ANGELES -- Yankees left fielder Brett Gardner will undergo precautionary X-Rays on his bruised right forearm in New York today and will be re-examined by a team doctor.
Gardner left the Yankees' 8-6 victory against the Dodgers just before the fourth inning.
"I'll be all right," said Gardner, who the Yankees listed as day-to-day. "They just seem to think it's a bad bruise and nothing else."
Gardner got hit on the right forearm, just above his right wrist, by a Clayton Kershaw pitch in the third inning.
Gardner felt well enough to play the outfield but knew he'd have trouble on the plate. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Gardner had swelling on the muscle of his forearm. X-rays were not performed."It got tight and it swelled up a lot more," said Gardner, who was replaced by Chad Huffman. "I knew there was no way I could swing a bat so I just went ahead and told them... Hopefully, I'll be back in a day or two."
Notes: Mariano Rivera worked his second two-inning appearance on the road trip. "I don't want to get into a habit," said Girardi, who hoped Rivera would last two innings when he brought him into a tie game in the bottom of the ninth. After the frame, Girardi asked Rivera to be honest: "Tell me how you really feel." When Rivera said he was fine, Girardi allowed him to pitch a second inning. "That's why we're here," Rivera said. ... Alex Rodriguez made an in-game adjustment on his posture and stance following his first at-bat. With his feet wider apart, Rodriguez later hit a home run, No. 593 of his career.
