The New Hitting Coach?

Looks like the "magical" hitting coach, Rudy Jamrillo, is not returning to the Rangers. If Sabes and Boch are serious bout axing Lansford (which is probably true), I wonder if they'll give Jamrillo a call? I don't necessarily think the man can work wonders, but, at the very least, if the offense sucks next year (which is likely), Sabean and Bochy won't have the excuse of "Well, its the hitting coach's fault!"

Justin Hedrick

Grant made a recent post talking about Justin Hedrick as one possible piece to fixing the Giants bullpen woes. I had never really taken notice of him before (I probably should have), so I decided to do some research.

He is having a great year in AA and he had a good year last year. Below is a link to his current AA numbers this year:

Hedrick's 2008 Numbers

But, I don't know much about him and I am wondering why a guy with his numbers is still in AA (especially after a successful stint there last year). Is there something wrong with the guy? Does he have sub-par stuff? I just don't understand why he is still in AA when he should be given a shot to show whether he can be an important part of the 2009 Giants bullpen.

What does everyone think about Justin Hedrick? Could he be a potential important piece in a future Giants bullpen? What kind of stuff does he have?

Angels acquire Teixeira?

I just saw on the ESPN News ticker that the Angels had acquired Mark Teixeira, but I can't find anything about it at ESPN or the MLB.com website. Has anyone else seen this?

Either I am crazy and saw something wrong (which is possible) or this is very fresh and has yet to have an article written about it. If I am wrong, I apologize and ask for everyone's forgiveness.

If this is true, I think this finally pushes the Angels over the edge and makes them the odds-on favorite to win the WS.

Brian Wilson's Gonna Give Me A Heart Attack!

I sure wish he would stop being so wild! He has a great fastball, but he just loses command of it sometimes. It is almost as if he does not trust his fastball and thinks he needs to nibble or something. Still, I can't take 3-1 counts to every single batter in the 9th inning much longer....I might have a heart attack (and I'm only 22!).

I personally have not been impressed with Brian Wilson's secondary pitches. I thought he had a good curveball, but I don't see him throw it often. He does not seem to possess a great secondary pitch to complement his fastball like Gagne had with his changeup or Robb Nenn with his slider.
