Another Fine Day For Julio
I sure miss him, but am glad to see him having a good day, and helping to stick the knife into $cam Newton. His TDs in Q4 looked vintage Julio. Now, if somebody could only break a Tebow ankle.
Gators Say Bama Has Tougher Defense Than LSU
These will probably get posted as game prep words on some locker room wall in a swamp in Louisiana, but one reporter claims that the Gators' Burton says that Bama's defense is tougher. Let's hope that is the case. I watched the LSU/UF game, and I have to say that LSU looked strong and fast. I know we have a tendency to "play to our opponent," and we sure looked that way in the first half last night, but when 11/5 rolls around, we'll find out who has the fire in the belly.
Healthy Conflict Avoidance
Caught this semi-amusing piece over at ESPN, where Forde is parodying armchair psychology about all the emotional conflicts in college football, including teams that blow big losses, teams that can't win no matter whaT conference they are in, teams like, cough, cough, us, who cannot cover The Barners' tight end, etc. He gets then to a category called "Conflict Avoidance":
Conflict Avoidance
Everyone who tries to tackle Alabama running back Trent Richardson (24) winds up experiencing this by the fourth quarter. Actually, The Dash finds this a perfectly healthy response.
I have found my food source for Saturday's barbecue
I was really surprised at how difficult it was to find alligator meat in the Oakland CA area [there is a fair amount of fair, but hardly good or great barbecue here], but I thought for sure I could find some raw material. No such luck. But not too far away in Reno, there is an ample supply. Any West Coasters here, if you know of any better or local sources, please let me know. Cheers! Roll Tide!
The Call Sounds Good to Me
I like the way the Tuscaloosa News calls it. (If this is a redundant post, regrets. I looked but did not see it.)
WSJ Suggests "Fix" for College Football
Not the worst idea for conference realignment I have ever heard. Based on the English Premier League concept, it would preserve the bulk of the traditional conferences, while also providing a mechanism for movement in or out of the successful, "wealthy" divisions in the conferences.
Ingram Graces Apple's iPad
Apple's new iPad page features NY Times shot with Ingram on knees in triumph in the end zone. The pic rotates, so you don't always see it, but it was the first one I saw today.
Criticisms of Tebow at Senior Bowl
Just heard Todd McShay on ESPN reporting from the Senior Bowl that, while Tebow had a better second day of practice than his first, he is still taking serious dings for his "elongated" passing motion--which apparently is allowing speedy DBs ample time to lock on--and for his poor accuracy.
UGA Offers DC to Smart
UGA offers Smart DC position. To Saban's point, what's the point?

Ingram Wins Heisman?
We'll know soon enough.
Bringing Equity to SEC Scheduling
The number of SEC opponents who get a bye week before playing the Tide is amazing.
Big D--Dallas, Domers and defense
Pat Forde picks Bama D as best in the country. McClain as one of his top ten.
