These will probably get posted as game prep words on some locker room wall in a swamp in Louisiana, but one reporter claims that the Gators' Burton says that Bama's defense is tougher. Let's hope that is the case. I watched the LSU/UF game, and I have to say that LSU looked strong and fast. I know we have a tendency to "play to our opponent," and we sure looked that way in the first half last night, but when 11/5 rolls around, we'll find out who has the fire in the belly.

Caught this semi-amusing piece over at ESPN, where Forde is parodying armchair psychology about all the emotional conflicts in college football, including teams that blow big losses, teams that can't win no matter whaT conference they are in, teams like, cough, cough, us, who cannot cover The Barners' tight end, etc. He gets then to a category called "Conflict Avoidance":

I was really surprised at how difficult it was to find alligator meat in the Oakland CA area [there is a fair amount of fair, but hardly good or great barbecue here], but I thought for sure I could find some raw material.
