Hurricane FlashForward is now into its second week of the season and what a painfully emotionally despondent funk our Canes fans find ourselves in!! In what was being pegged as one of the most anticipated games of the year, the Hurricanes went into the Shoe and decided to self-destruct on themselves. Amazingly enough, the defense while not playing shutout football, did enough to give the offense opportunities to win. Unfortunately the offense never got off the bus. Hats off to OSU though, they played a smart, hardnosed game, limited their mistakes and capitalized off of ours. Pryor played well and they deserved the win. How agonizing this was for me to chop up and get ready for the FlashForward, apparently it was even harder for my DVR to take because it decided to shut itself off after the 3Qtr and well I can't blame it. So Here you go. The first 3 quarters of UM vs. OSU Flashed Forward. The fourth quarter will come shortly after I recapture the replay which no doubt will be condensed by the network. Enjoy if that is even possible. (sigh)

We are finally into the new 2010-11 Hurricane season and with 31spoonerstreet & Rusty98UM handling all of the Game Highlights and Full Game Torrents, I thought it would be nice to introduce another way to enjoy Miami Hurricane Football.

Now Presenting: Hurricane FlashForward!!! Ever miss a game or want to revisit a game that had a lasting impression over you but don't have the 3 hours to watch it in. Well look no further. Hurricane FlashForward is here to help you out. No Commercial, No Huddles, Few Replays and All Action, that is what you will get with the new Hurricane FlashForward. (Thx NFL Network for the idea) We will take you from snap to snap, quarter by quarter for one hour of Canes Mind Blowing Ecstasy each week! I know, I know...thank us later and provide your own wetnaps! Its all about the DA "U"....It's a Canes Thang...Others Just Don't Understand!

This first game is a rough test-run for the rest of the season. Some of the cuts will be ugly and dirty but hey you have to start somewhere. The FAMU game obviously was streamed thru ESPN3 so there will be choppy scenes and what not. I will do this for the *osu game as well in HD and then take in everyone's suggestion and decide whether to keep it going all season or leave well enuf alone. Enjoy nonetheless...it only gets better from here! Any and all input is welcome. Even if everyone thinks it's crap! LOL I can take the criticism and hey if it doesn't work..it just frees me up to do more editing for my Dallas Cowboys.

I will still do animated gifs and fill in whenever one of the Video Gurus has to sit a game out...but I thought this might be a good way for people to have access to our games via YouTube in small packages to watch whenever they please.

TIGER TOOTHGATE 2010

Is it just me...or is something off with Tiger's left tooth. When I say off...I don't mean off-white. Mother of Pearl my A**!! Maybe I am just not observant as I like to think I am but there definitely seems to be something wrong wit this picture. I'll let ya'll decide for ya'self but maybe...just MAYBE...there was a cosmetic reason that Tiger went into hiding after the beatdowohhhh errrrrrr I mean accident!

Sam Shields was not taken in the NFL draft but determined to prove that he could make it in the league, he set out to prove everyone who passed on him wrong. Well Mr. Shields you are doing a mighty fine job. After returning a 97 yd INT back for a touchdown in Green Bay's final inter-squad scrimmage, Shields is yet proving again that he belongs when he stepped in front of a curl route to pocket his first INT as an NFL rookie with a minute left in the Colts game. Keep up the good work playa!! Its all about NFLU

In Case You Missed it on ESPN...This is a recap of OSU wins and loses outcome against the Canes for 2010.

Its that time of year again and looks like ESPN likes Miami Hurricanes over #2 OSU on Sept. 11th in the Shoe! What a game it will be! Lets Get It Canes!!!  Unfortunately Desmond Howard who had the priveledge of sitting in on the last scrimmage of the year wasn't sporting the same Orange and Green shaded glasses.  He mentioned that our LB is our weakest link, Bailey is all hype until otherwise proven and our WRs are not elite because they do not get enough touches.  You can read more about there here.

For those who want a sneak peak at what the players are looking like on the practice field, feast your eyes on these gems! All photos were from the Greentree Practice Fields in Coral Gables.  You can get a glimpse of some familiar faces as well as some "who the hell is that" and "where is the roster sheet" head scratchers.  Needless to say some of these new fresh faces will be making an impact this year.  Any guess on who the front runners might be??

What's Crackalackin My Canatics!! Long Time No Post...I know I know but Football season is FINALLY around the corner again and I just thought I would slide on in and wet the paletes of all of you salivating for the season to start and bring you some videos of the Canes talking about the upcoming 2010-2011 season.

Couple interviews from the Media Day on 28th of July and Coach Shannon's first interview after the 1st day of practice to kick off the 2010 season. Also the first media day with the press where Coach Shannon and J12 address the media about what is to come this year with the Canes.  Enjoy.

If any of you have watched the last 3 games (which I am sure most of you have) then you probably are experiencing the same anxieties that I am.  What is going on with our defense?  We are we soo beat up at LB?  Where the hell are the younger guys?  Does Pink really have 3 nipples?!? Can we expect 450+ yards against us for the rest of the year.....well my Fellow Canaics, after reading Manny's Blog (over at the Miami Herald)  you might wanna grab a seat and snatch up the neareest blunt, crack pipe, bottle of pills, flask of bourbon or whatever else that takes you to your Happy Place. 

Here is a few things from the article that I wanted to point out, but the link to the full article can be found at the bottom of the post.

1)  Randy Shannon was talking at his Tuesday Press Conference about the injuries on the defense and how the other guys are going to have to step up.  Along with that Shannon states: "As far as coaches, we're going to grind those guys each and every day. Right now, this part of the season, it's all about execution. We're gong to teach those guys each and every day to learn. If they don't learn it, we have to keep teaching it." Well I was was wonder just who he might be talking about with "those guys".  Come to find out Chavez Grant painted out the gloomy picture perfectly. 

Grant says:  "The transition from high school to college is all mental.  "You're going to get faster, you're going to get stronger, but this game is played between your ears. You have to understand where you are and where you need to be, what plays are called, what those plays are designed for. And what those guys are struggling with is that. You can't just learn two coverages if you're going into a game with six coverages. Then, the coaches would have to pick and choose based on what you can do. That's the biggest problem. They have to learn the plays. Physically, Brandon [McGee] can play football. Arthur Brown, he can play with the best of them. Arthur Brown will be the first one to find the ball in practice. But when it comes to schemes, blitz coverages and blitz pacakges, dropping into coverages those are not those guys' strong points. And it's not the coaching. We're all in the same meetings. We're all getting taught the same way. If those guys really want to learn, they have to put in the extra time."

Hmm that says a whole lot about why we haven't seen the younger guys on the field yet.  Even more disconcerting news came from Randy Phillips on the overall health of the defense.  Manny asks Phillips how much pain is he playing in during the games.  Phillips lifts his right arm up to his chest, saying this is as far as I can lift it so if I want to tip a pass I have to go up with my left arm.   Phillips continues, "There are only three players on Miami's defense who aren't playing with some form of pain or coming off injury." Those are: cornerbacks Brandon Harris and Sam Shields and safety Jared Campbell. So almost the entire defense is playing with battered bodies which gives us a glimpse to why we have seen such a drop off in defensive production.

Read what else Manny finds out from the players this morning.  One thing I can say is, these kids are gutting it out for the Team and that is progress!  Last year, we all but quit around this time...lets hope this season isn't a repeat performance.

Practice Notes: Coach Shannon has changed practice times for the team. They will now meet in the morning around 6AM and then come back in the afternoon for a hour practice at full speed. The goal is to have a fast moving practice with less reps focusing on reducing mental mistakes. Shannon's hope is to keep the kids fresh and sharp for Saturday's game. (Hopefully less injured two since the last few injuries (Ray Ray and James) were acquired in their 2hr full contact practices.

We all know how tight a ship Randy Shannon runs and getting sound bytes out of his Coordinators is harder then stuffing a cantalope into a frogs pu......well you get the picture.  However this is a new week, the gauntlet is over and wouldn't you believe it, Coach Shannon actually might just be warming up a lil bit.  Coach Lovett addressed the press at Tuesday's Meda Day.  (This is a 3 part interview so grab some popcorn and a brewski and prepare to get school'd)

Since SpongeBob embraced Da "U" there has been buzz about SpongeBob getting into the studio and doing a collaboration for a hot new catchy Miami Hurricanes anthem that is hitting in the hoods while trying to make its way into the mainstream. Can SpongeBob give this track the push it needs to reach the promise land..... We leave it to you all to decide!!
