Orlando Pinstriped Post A fantasy scenario involving Fran Vasquez

Several weeks ago a friend told me he wished Orlando could get Chris Bosh.  I laughed at him and said the Magic could never do it from a financial standpoint.  After several days thought, I came up with the bare bones of an idea in which this could conceivably happen.  I know it never will -- like I said, it's a fantasy.

Presuming Toronto has a disappointing start of the season, and presuming Marcin Gortat is disgruntled in his backup role and is ready to be traded before mid-season (since he does have approval rights on any deal this year), the trade could basically be something like this.  Gortat plus the Turkoglu trade exception plus JJ Redick (if needed to equalize the deal) for Bosh.  Orlando would have needed to already have bought out Vasquez's contract in Spain to bring him over as Howard's backup.  Since Toronto is pretty deep at center, a third team like Houston might have to be brought into the mix to make it work out -- maybe Gortat to Houston, Battier and Redick and the exception to Toronto, Bosh to Orlando.

This could make the Magic's starting lineup Howard, Bosh, Lewis, Carter, Nelson.  Pretty impressive, on paper.  Anyway, just a scenario to ponder while we wait for the season to begin.
