Why I'm a fan of the Flyers, Steelers, and Orioles -- I grew up in south-central PA, so I got to choose my favorite teams from the nearby cities instead of getting tied to every team from a particular city. So I get spoiled by all the success of the Steelers, get frustrated by all the near-success of the Flyers, and get depressed by all the failures of the Orioles. :)
It also makes it interesting that I hate the other teams from the same city, i.e., Penguins and Ravens.
