Well folks, here we are. Your team coming into Pittsburgh hoping to play spoilers for my teams post season aspirations. Your team maybe, or maybe not, trying for a high draft pick (which Emperor Al-patine will undoubtedly waste on a 4.3 guy with no hands). Both of our teams coming off losses that could have very easily turned into wins. Who will prevail this week? Nobody knows, since the end result will be determined by the guys on the field.

You guys really, really deserve this win. We played a horrible 4th quarter, and Cassel played lights out in the 4th. There's nothing to be said, or excuses to be made. We hung ourselves out to dry when we needed to close the game. Your team did just the opposite. We beat you in every aspect of the game, except when/where it counted. The best team in crunch time won. Penalties DESTROYED us, as well as bad decisions (like Wallace trying for more yards on that strip/fumble). The Chiefs played a smart game. Seriously? 2 friggin' penalties??? I have wet dreams about having 2 penalty games from my team. How the hell did Cassel keep popping up like a friggin' jack in the box after every hit he took? Kid's tough.

Oh yeah, thanks for (maybe) playing spoiler for us today, was awesome of you...(grumble). Also, thanks for taking out Ben. Good strategy though, gotta hand it to your D...Just kidding. Let me vent a little bit, ok? :)

Alright, here it is folks. As the headline says, we need some fun, therefore, I am putting this idea out there for you all to vote on, and chime in with.

This is a prototype, R&D if you will, for a spot to post funny things. IE: pictures, sayings, smack-talk, jokes, basically anything you think is funny. If it goes well/gets a good reception, I'll start a weekly thread for just this. I'm also thinking about making it a competition. Basically, the 3 or 4 jokes/captioned pictures/sayings ETC. will be featured in the next post, and a poll set for you to vote on your favorite. You wont be winning anything, per se, outside of bragging rights, but like I said, it's just for fun! Besides, hopefully we'll all get a few LOLZ out of it.

Caveat! This IS a "family" site for the most part (outside of the open game threads...hehe) so please bear that in mind and keep it relatively "clean".

Okay, guys (and gals) here we are. Week 10 cometh, and with it THE match-up of the season.

As of right now, our two teams are the best in the league. Screw Tom "I impregnated a super model" Brady. Fornicate Peyton "I finally won in the playoffs" Manning. Piss on Kyle "Neckbeard" Orton, and giggle at Phillip "Crybaby" Rivers.

We are the the teams to beat this year in the AFC. I, for one am nervous about this one, since it has miles of playoff implications (not to mention bragging rights, and sole control of the North).

I am here as a fellow fan, and will conduct myself with all cordiality that I am afforded. (Translation: You be nice to me, I'll be nice to you. Be a dick, and get it back. Not threatening, just saying) I want this to be as fact based as possible. I know It's going to be hard for some of us (Steeler fans included), as we are rabid fans of our respective franchises. I am asking, in the interest of fandom (is that a word? LOL), to keep it clean, civil and most importantly, fun!

Sunday games open thread

So, here it is. Sunday. We finally get to watch some footy footy football. Yeah, Steelers-Broncos isn't until tomorrow, but at least we can watch the Bungholes and Ratbirds kick the crap out of each other. That, and maybe the Phins-Pats game are the only ones that really caught my interest today. Oh, the Cowgirls-Iggles game tonight might be pretty good, and the Cards-Bears game could prove to be awesome, but that's about it.

On a wishful thinking standpoint, I hope The Texans can upset the Baltimore Colts. Yes, I know, Indy...whatever. Also, I would LOVE to see Joey Porter wipe that smug, prissy little grin off girly-man Brady's face. I really can't imagine anyone, besides a Pats fan, that likes Brady. Anybody else see where Bille-cheat said he would trade anyone on the Pats roster, except Tommy-Boy? As if he didn't have a monster ego already...yeesh.

Anyway, enough of my rant. Onward to football!!!

As it stands right now, we are tied with the Ratbirds for 2nd place in the AFCN. The Bungholes sneaked another one in on a supposedly dominant team, and are on top(WTF?!?). Giants *MURDERED* the Raiders. Vikings spanked the hapless Rams. And the Patsies have a 10-0 lead over the donkeys.

Bonus: *WE ARE 3-2!!!!!* How's it feel guys? Feels pretty damn good, doesn't it? How about three, count 'em, *3* sacks in a row on the Lions' last possession? *W00T*

Open thread for early games

I thought I would put up a place where you guys could discuss the early games if you wanted to.

At this writing, N.E. is winning their game 17-7 over the Ratbirds.

Lions are tied(?) with the Bears at the half.

Indy is running away from the Seachickens 21-3.

Cincy is a score over the Skidmarks 14-7.

Jacksonville is MURDERING the Tits 27-3. WTF? What happened to the Tits? Curse of the Terrible Towel, anyone? I can only LOL very hard!!!

Awfully quick of us to lay blame (Holmes, Reed, Carter).

Reed: Missed two clutch field goals today. Boo-hoo. How many times has he come through for us at the end of games or in O.T.? Last week comes to mind. He went from hero to goat in 10 days... Every PK misses every now and then, that's why they make them kick instead of just giving the team the 3 points (or PAT).

Holmes: Hmmm...I seem to remember a little play in a certain Super Bowl that just so happened to bring us our 6th title, and earned him the MVP of the game. So he dropped some passes today. Hines drops passes too. So did Jerry Rice...

Carter: I recall a tidbit of information posted on this site about how we are 5-2 when The Beast is out and Carter played in his stead. I also recall alot of people saying that there wasn't a huge drop off in talent when Carter plays. Sure, maybe he made some bad reads, played soft, missed tackles, and let balls through that The Beast would have intercepted. Is Ryan Mundy really that much better than Tyrone?

How quick we are to throw people under the bus (hehe, Bus) when they have an under achieving day. Let's not be so quick to condemn someone for having an off day. Shall we forget about the past, and concentrate on tomorrow? No, because understanding what happened is the key to fixing what went wrong. But, understanding does not mean dwelling. We lost. Move on, because bitching and moaning won't change that fact.
