Behind the Steel Curtain Really no Randy Moss in Pittsburgh?

I know there are some eyes rolling on this post but I just wanted to get everyone's honest opinion on why we the Steelers wouldn't  just go after Randy Moss considering they just missed out on landing Plaxico and now an ailing Emmanuel Saunders on the shelf with a foot injury.

A lot of teams took advantage of the free agent period to get better. Some of the immediate ones that come to mind are the Jets, Eagles, Patriots, and even Ravens to some extent. They are all being very aggressive and are making moves to win now while the Steelers will roll into the seasons with the same glaring holes that we faced last season this time. You can't tell me I'm the only person worried that our competition is loaded and continually reloading.

Just for the record, let me start by saying I have faith in all things Kevin Colbert, the Rooney's, Mike Tomlin and the organization as a whole, but this is one time I would like to see them roll the dice. I know Randy Moss certainly comes with some enormous baggage, but isn't time we put this great organization and strong locker room to the test, and add a player of Moss's undeniable talents in pursuit of a 7th ring?  Are we really worried  that Mike Tomlin and the Rooney's can't make this a win-win?  To me, the upside far out weighs the downside.  Plus with guys like James Harrison willing to throw the franchise quarterback and entire offense under the bus,in the locker room, I'm compelled to believe Moss would be less prone to acting a crazy. Let's face it, this is Moss's last go around and he's yet to win the ring. How many more opportunities like this do you think he will get considering  his age and reputation? This could truly be his last shot at the ring.

Isn't it really time the Steeler's get off the high and horse for just once, take a calculated risk, and land one of the most dynamic players of our era?  I'm not talking about crazy mad money. Just a one yeardeal; no guarantees. He act's nuts, cut him, he's gone.  If it works out, can you imagine trotting out Moss and Wallace on the outside with Sanders and Ward in the slots. Miller at TE.  Ben's been clamoring for a big wide-out who he play catch with right?  Why not give it to him.

Behind the Steel Curtain What's gonna happen with Hines?

Hey Guys I would like to bring up a topic that hasnt been discussed in quite a while on BTSC. I think that it hasnt come up lately because it's one of those things that as it get closer to fruition,we just cant bear to think about. My question is what are the possibilities of Hines taking a significant paycut to be back with the team in 2010.?   I for one dont see the Rooney's overpaying for services of an aging and slowing Hines Ward though I believe he deserves it for all he's done and meant to the organization. I personally can't fathom the thoughts of Hines playing in another uniform and hope he can give us a hometown discount to play out his remaining years in a Steelers uniform.  At the age of 34, I know he's winding down, but how much longer do you guys see him playing?  Do you think he could handle settling for a lesser role to finish out his career in the "Burgh?"  I for one will be sad when 86 hangs them up. He truly epitomizes all that is Steeler Football and is arguably the heart and soul of our football team.  What do you guys think?
