Detroit Bad Boys More Potential Pistons

As a lot of people have said, it's an exciting time to be a Pistons fan. Yes, we sucked this season and were dominated by the Cavs in the playoffs, but I don't believe the Pistons would have beaten them, with Chauncey.

Anyways, here are more thoughts/observations/trade scenarios regarding the Pistons' plan this summer to acquire talented players.....

My only concern about Ben Gordon is his size. And when his shot isn’t falling he’s pretty much useless. And would Chicago really do that deal (Gordon for Rip)? I don’t see why. What they want to do is to unload Kirk Hinrich since he’s being paid $9 million to be a backup PG behind rookie phenom Derrick Rose.

I’ve already said for my piece about Chandler. But what about Andrew Bogut? He’s on the cash-strapped Bucks and is better than Chandler in almost every category there is, not to mention he’s 2 years younger and his contract is not even that bad. Although, I’m not sure what it would take to get him, but the Bucks can't afford to keep everyone, since they have two restricted FAs as well (Session, Villanueva). But if Chandler can be had for basically Kwame, then yeah, let’s do that.

Another option at SF is the Hawks' Marvin Williams. Check out the guys stats this year. He averaged 14 ppg, 6 rpg. He's only 22 & can probably be had for $7-9 million. This guy is really good and really underrated. I think he would be a great option at SF since he basically beats Tayshaun in every category and is 7 years younger. Not to mention that the Hawks manangement is terrible at keeping players (Josh Childress).

And it’s great that we can even talk about all these different players. If Joe Dumars had kept Chauncey, then we’re essentially stuck w/ the same roster for next season(s).

Potential Moves

OK, so here's some potential moves that could be made with $20 million worth of capspace available:

Sign Marvin Williams for $7-8 million.

Trade Tayshaun  ($9 million)+Amir ($3.3 million) and/or Maxiell ($5 million) in a sign and trade for  Chris Bosh ($14 million)

Trade Kwame ($4 million)+ Amir ($3.3 million) for Andrew Bogut ($10 million)/Tyson Chandler ($12 million)

Sign Ben Gordon for $6-8 million (bench)[unlikely though]

Sign Grant Hill (to be the backup SF) for $2 million.

Lineups:

Starters: Rodney Stuckey / Rip Hamilton / Marvin Williams / Chris Bosh/ Tyson Chandler (or Andrew Bogut)

Bench: Will Bynum / Ben Gordon / Aaron Affalo / Grant Hill/ Jason Maxiell (?)

Your guys' thoughts?

Detroit Bad Boys Next Season's Roster

Pistons fans, what do you think of this trade: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=d67geb. And then trading Amir, Kwame, Maxiell for Emaka Okafor. And then signing Carlos Boozer or Paul Millsap (depending if Boozer opts out or not).

So it'd be Stuckey, Rip, G. Wallace, Boozer/Millsap, Okafor.

Bench: Bynum, Afflalo, Herrmann, McDyess.

Good right?

I mean, if we can get Bosh, then great, but I'm not so sure about that....
