Niners Nation Is anyone having their own draft party for ninersnation??

I don't want to be stuck in Modesto again at my friends house watching the draft. It was pretty fun because one of my friends is a Broncos fan, one is an Eagles fan, some are Niner fans and some are Raider fans.

Other than the excitement from the small group of us Niner fans when they announced Crabtree as our draftee, "and the extreme laughter us Niner fans had when we watched the expressions of the Raider fans' faces when they announced DHB as the Raiders draftee" it wasn't that fun.

So who is having a get together that would allow me to join in? I just want to watch the draft with some truly dedicated 49er fans and all of you fit that criteria perfectly.

ps...  I'll bring chips and soda :)

Niners Nation Searching for something when it's right in front of you?

All of us know that our main priority coming into the draft is O-line, but what if the lineman we have been searching for is right under our noses. Let's go for a jump shall we.. woohooo!

Niners Nation You want to know why I love the players on the 49ers???

I haven't watched WWE since it barely switched from the WWF, but yesterday afternoon I was on Twitter and Takeo said he was going to be at WWE RAW, which was taking place in San Jose last night.

Although I didn't watch it live, thanks to a couple dedicated YouTubers I was able to watch the whole thing part by part and I died laughing when I saw what you all will see after the jump.

Oh and by the way.. I didn't die from laughter ;)

Niners Nation Someone really wants Chester Pitts on the 49ers??

After looking like a fool "with my pants on the ground" with that post of what I'd think Singletary would go for in the draft I thought to myself that I have to be a little more insightful with my posts. So here is something to look forward to for those who wouldn't mind having Chester Pitts play for the 49ers.

Apparently Takeo Spikes really wants Pitts on the team. After the jump you'll see the hard evidence I have to back this up.

Niners Nation Singletary Minded Mock Draft??

I've been contemplating on who I think Singletary will pick up for the 49ers in the draft, being that McCloughan most likely won't be there to pull the strings.

I know there is already a Mock Draft FanPost, but I wanted to see what your guys' opinions would be if Singletary were to draft these certain players I'm going to show you after the jump. Now I'm only going to do the first 4 rounds because I feel that after that from then on it's all a toss up.

Niners Nation This is My Kind of 49er Cool-Aid With a Pinch of Prediction?

This is going to be a very short and sweet Cool-Aid sip "or gulp".

Right now I was thinking of how greatly our defense has improved since past  years and how well we have played they have played these past few games. I also was thinking of how our passing game has showed some light lately. I'm sure you all have noticed the same things and are wondering why I'm telling things you already notice.

Well, with those thoughts in our minds I want to bring up a what if Cool-Aid possibility, which would please me tremendously. Now I want all of your thoughts and/or your own what if Cool-Aid possibilities or wishes. My Cool-Aid possibility is based on recent happenings with the Crabtree tampering scandal and the F-bomber. In General it would be amazing if we made it to the NFC Championship and came out of it winners, thus leading to our 6th Superbowl appearance and of course winning. That alone would fulfill my Cool-Aid desire, but let's make things more specific "like who we'll play".

What would you all say to this. We make it to the NFC Championship to face the Vikings, shut down AP, F-bomber, and come out with a win. Next we go to the Superbowl to face Rex Ryan and his Jets, we shutdown the Jets and leave Rex Ryan speechless "I know it would be amazing since he is never speechless", and win the Superbowl. Ok, now I digress from my Cool-Aid possibility.

Now, on to the predictions.

Before the season many of us predicted the 49ers would go 9-7/8-8 based on all of our predictions averaged out. Most of us if not all of us predicted that those 8-7 losses would come from the Colts, Titans, Packers, Cardinals "away", Falcons, Eagles, Vikings and Texans. After the 1st three games of the season based on how we've played for sure we know we can take away the possibility of a loss at Arizona since we won and we know the Vikings did beat us so there are 6 more likely losses "Colts, Titans, Packers, Falcons, Eagles and Texans".

Well that's what I predicted before the season, but now after how the Texans and Titans have played I feel that we can come out with a win in both of those games.

The Packers lost at home against the Bengals and we will be going into Lambeau too and we too have a great defense so I can see us winning that game. Coming up after the Rams game we play at home against the Falcons. I know we won't have Gore the 2nd straight week, but depending on how much Coffee shines this Sunday will let us know what we will do to the Falcons since they are ranked 24th in rush defense. Now the Colts, and Eagles game will both be tough and probably losses but I will definitely have faith in our Niners in those games. So that's my predictions from my Cool-Aid possibility to my renewed predictions of our 2009-2010 season.

Before the season I predicted 9-7 with a possibility of winning in our division, now I predict either 11-5 or 12-4 :). So now you guys can criticize me on being too enthusiastic or however you please and give other opinions.

Niners Nation Reasons for why we will beat the Vikings?

Currently the Vikings' game averages for offense are 4th in points (30.5), 26th in yards (287.5), 32nd in pass yards (119), and 2nd in rush yards (168.5). Their game averages for defense are 9th in points allowed (16.5), 5th in yards allowed (266.5), 5th in pass yards allowed (157.5), and 15th in rush yards allowed (109).

The 49ers game averages for offense are 12th in points (21.5), 25th in yards (291), 30th in pass yards (152.5), and 8th in rush yards (138.5). Our game averages for defense are 5th in points allowed (13.0), 9th in yards allowed (291), 22nd in pass yards allowed (238), and 3rd in rush yards (53).

Ok, thats' a lot of averages to remember, but that's why I'm here to give my breakdown opinions and have you guys respond to my opinions and give your own. I feel that if the 49ers play the way they have been playing lately that we will win the game. I know we haven't played great but when we needed to get certain things done we did. Hill has shown us that he can take the 49ers down the field and score and Gore has shown us that he can run all the way down the field and score lol. Our defense has proven that they are pretty good and pass rush and all though we are 22nd in pass yards allowed we all know that most of those passes were little checkdowns that we let happen rather than being vulnerable to the deep ball, plus the past 2 teams we've played are both big on the passing game and we shutdown a lot of big players like Fitzgerald, Boldin, and Housh so I'm sure we can handle the likes of Berrian, Harvin, and Shiancoe.

Our defense when it comes to rushing is amazing in 3rd with an average of 53 yards and the running backs we faced weren't knock offs they are fairly well wrong backs both Hightower and Jones, so I'm sure we can hold down both Peterson and Taylor to a low amount this Sunday.

The Vikings defense is 5th in pass yards allowed but thats based on averages against a qb that was selected to start just before the game in Cleveland and against a rookie in Detroit, so or 22nd compared to their 15th doesn't look too bad it might even look better since it was against a future hall of famer "Warner" and although it was half a game we played well against the probowler "Hasslebeck". I really enjoy how the Vikings are 15th in rush yards allowed because that is with the Williams' both playing and once again that's against the Lions and Cleveland. Wow, just think what Gore will do if our line improves over the week. In simple terms I'm saying this: Based on who we've played compared to who the Vikings have played and the averages both of our offenses and defenses have I feel that we can come out with a win in a hostile invironment "Minnesota" against the Vikings.

It will be a grueling, smash mouth game, but that's the definition of the team Mike Singletary has turned us into and that is how we are starting to be known as around the NFL. Now before I bore all of my fellow 49er fanatics to death with my opinionated blabbering about why I think the 49ers will beat the Vikings I will put a poll so you can all vote on whether we win or lose and by how much. Thank you all for taking the time to read my post. =)

Poll
Who will win this Sunday between the 49ers and Vikings and by how much?
49ers by 1-14 points

Vikings by 1-14 points

49ers by 15 or more points

Niners Nation 49ers currently in 1st place??

Yes, that's right. Although it's just 2 weeks into the 2009-2010 season our beloved 49ers are on the top of the NFC Conference based on their stats. For the remainder of the week up until the Vikings game I will be extremely happy that we are currently 1st in the NFC.

I'm already pumped up for the Vikings game and taking into consideration who will the 49ers have to watch for other than Peterson.

So I've decided to make a poll on who else will be a "big" threat to our defense other than Peterson in the upcoming game against the Vikings.

Niners Nation Primetime talks to Rich Eisen about Crabtree

I guess Crabtree is willing to sit out the whole season, well that's what Primetime is saying after haven talked with Crabtree. Eisien, La Canfora, and Wyche all disagree with that notion. They believe he should get his butt signed with the offer that the 49ers have given him.

Sanders also stated that there were a couple of teams whom showed interest in trading for Crabtree but Eisen pointed out that the trade deadline is over for Crabtree.

I know there is already a FanPost on this topic, but being that this is some fresh news that is pretty interesting I thought that it's value would suffice for its own FanPost.

There were a lot more details to this but NFL Total Access will be replayed tonight if any of you want to watch.

Freakin Crab-cakes..

Niners Nation Watching NFL Total Access and I Hear Great Things =)

With the cast of Rich Eisen, Jamie Dukes, and Rod Woodson they discussed some of the top players in the preseason, which were on a calculated list. Rich Eisen hardly ever discusses a player and as usual he had Jaime Dukes and Rod Woodson each take turns on who they felt did great this preseason. It was like hearing music for the first time lol. Jamie Dukes talked of how he believes Nate Davis is showing his ability to practically steal the starting position from Sean hill, and how he is playing great. Than Rod Woodson was to choose a player and out of all 32 teams he chose a young man from the 49ers named Glen Coffee. He talked of how he is going to give the 49ers that one-two punch and how he picked up Coffee for his Fantasy team as a back up =).

These are the moments that make me feel so happy to be a 49er fan. When you have Rich Eisen, Jamie Dukes "whom I usually don't agree with", and Rod Woodson all praising players on the 49ers out of all 32 teams. We may not have been as bright as the North Star in this preseason, but we sure have improved and having the 2nd most interceptions behind Green Bay this preseason makes me really excited for our division since both the Cardinals and Seahawks love throwing more than running. The Lambs are who we thought they were "basura" so we don't have much to worry just remember who Avery and Jackson are and we'll be just fine.

Niners Nation My Fantasy Predicament Or Not?

At this moment I am involved in 3 different Fantasy Football leagues. One on NFL.com and two on ESPN.com. I made the draft for the NFL.com one and one from ESPN.com, so I'm set at all positions very nicely, but in the 3rd one I couldn't make it to the draft due to my college class. It wouldn't mean much to me but I'm playing against some of my closest friends in this one and they all like to mouth off, and thanks to the automated draft I ended up with about 7 running backs, a few wide receivers, two quarterbacks, two tight-ends, one kicker, and one D/ST. A soon as i logged in I did a not so well face palm "thus my left palm hitting my left eye lol", but that isn't the point, the point is that I ended up doing waivers for the best wide receiver left as free agents. All of my waivers passed except for the one i wanted the most "but that's life for us" I planned on picking up Chris Henry from the Bengals but someone else thought the same thing. I'm pretty stacked at RB but my WR position is looking a little gloomy, so can you guys give me any suggestions of what i should do, whether it be trade suggestions, or players that are under the radar whom might still be free agents, or maybe just some words of advice with a prayer lol.

This is my team:

QB: Philip Rivers, Donovan McNabb

RB: Maurice Jones-Drew, LaDainian Tomlinson, Clinton Portis, Marshawn Lynch, Fred Jackson BUF, Kevin Smith

WR: Brandon Marshall, Chansi Stuckey, Dwayne Bowe, Justin Gage

TE: Visanthe Shiancoe, Chris Cooley

K: Mason Crosby

D/ST: Titans

Niners Nation How To Describe Your Feelings For This Season?

Earlier this evening when I had just finished my last class of the day I thought of  how cool it would be for everyone to describe their feelings for this season in 1-3 words. You can think of anything you want from definitions you may have to look up in a dictionary to words you can express at the moment. If you want to make it even more interesting you can type a certain 49er player's name down and next to it type your 1-3 words of how you feel about the player or how he will play this year. For example: Michael Crabtree - bendiga su alma. Did i mention you can say how you feel in any language ;). Type away everyone, I'm sure there is something you all can come up with.

Niners Nation Mike Sando and Bill Williamson debate Raiders and 49ers

Mike Sando and Bill Williamson debate on who will have the better season, who will go to the playoffs, who would win a fight between Singletary and Cable "lol", some Crabtree talk and a lot more.

The debate is about 17 minutes long from 14:45 till 32:30. I liked how Sando was straight forward on his thoughts of how far the 49ers will go this year. He must not have any packets of cool-aid in his house =).

Niners Nation Cardinals' injuries a benefit to us?

On the first day of training camp Beanie Wells sprained his right ankle, although it was a minor injury it shows that he is still very injury prone. When he was with OHIO he had a lot of yards but due to him being injured so often he couldn't keep a steady pace. I believe he will get over this sprain very soon but it shows his vulnerability to injury and the Cardinals aren't too deep with talent at the running back position, since they traded Edgerrin James they're only left with one proven running back in Tim Hightower an injury prone Beanie Wells who is unproven and Jason Wright who hasn't proven much. At least we have a pretty good idea for the Cardinals' game plan =)

Fun fact :

Besides Wells, the Cards also had three players sit out with injuries. Wide receiver Steve Breaston was nursing a sore back, while fullbacks Justin Green (knee) and Dan Krieder (hamstring) were also out.

Niners Nation My 2009 predictions. . .

In 6 hours I was able to predict all 32 of the NFL teams' wins and losses by viewing their schedules. When I finished with that I told myself "why stop" I should keep on going. So I went even deeper into the my prediction filled mind and compared each teams' record to the ones in their divisions and came up with the division winners and I thus started the wild card match ups. From there i went into the Divisional Playoffs, then the Conference Championships, and last but not least the Super Bowl. After I finished with everything I looked back at the win/loss records I gave each team " by the way some wins/losses were very difficult to decide", and thought to myself that my predictions seemed pretty good based on each teams' current situations and their schedules. So here are all 32 teams' win and loss records for the 2009 regular season, Wild Card, Divisional Playoffs, Conference Championships, and Super Bowl. Let me know your thoughts =)

Niners Nation Finally an interview with T Marvel Smith

On the 49ers official website, "49ers.com" you can watch the interviewing of Marvel Smith that was posted on the website yesterday.

He has the type of aggression we need for our O-line to succeed in being in the top group of O-linemen in the NFL.

Personally I feel that his impact on the 49ers this season at RT will be greater than I had suspected earlier in the offseason, "maybe it's because of the more time he has had to recover from his back surgery and the progression of it".

So I'm going to throw this question out there for everyone to debate on.

How effective do you think Marvel Smith wil be this year?

"when i close my eyes i picture Marvel blowing a guy off his feet while Frank Gore blasts down the right sideline for a 25 yard or more gain" =)

Niners Nation Is it worth it?

Lately I've been talking to a lot of close "football oriented" friends about whether i should buy the Crabtree jersey now or wait until the end of the year or after a few games into this season to see if he isn't a bust.

I personally feel that its worth the risk to buy his jersey before the season starts, because i don't see him going from the best college receiver 2 years in a row and than becoming a mediocre receiver in the NFL.

Well sorry for making this into a FanPost everybody but you guys are all like family through a 49er faithful way to me and i feel that your opinions will be what pushes me to buy it right away or what gets me to be patient to see how he does first.

Niners Nation What is the future for our receivers?

<!-- 1 -->

1. Isaac Bruce - Proved last year he has plenty left and was also voted the Len Eshmont Award winner. He's the likely starter at Z or flanker.

2. Michael Crabtree - Jarod Mayo, the 10th-round selection last year, signed a 5-year, $18.9 million deal with the Pats with $13.8 million guaranteed. Crabtree, this year's 10th pick, expects to get more than that, and a guy who earns that kind of cake plays. He'll compete with Morgan at X (split end).

3. Morgan - From his first minicamp to the spectacular game-winning catch in December against the Rams, Morgan exhibited his flashy potential. He's 6-0, 219, likes to block and he has the leaping ability for the end zone fade route. He disappeared for a long stretch last year after he pulled his groin in the second Cardinals' game. For the rest of the season, he couldn't cut well on his sore leg and he counseled with Bruce on how to use head fakes in place of his natural cutting ability. This guy could be special and shouldn't be crowded out by higher-paid players.

4. Brandon Jones - If the 49ers knew they were going to get Crabtree, they probably wouldn't have signed Jones. Long on talent but short on production, hopefully Jones won't turn out to be last year's Bryant Johnson or Darrell Jackson the year before, or Ashley Lelie. The free agent receiver flops go back a ways with the current regime. Jones signed a five-year $16.5 million deal with $5.4 guaranteed, despite never catching over 42 balls or gaining over 500 yards in any one season. He's spent most of the previous five seasons as a backup on a team not known for its receivers. A head-scratching move even before Crabtree was drafted. Jones will compete with Bruce for the starter's job. He could be anywhere from the top receiver to the fourth option.

5. Jason Hill - He has a clear chemistry with Shaun Hill and is developing Bruce's route-running acumen. He's another receiver you hope doesn't get lost with the highly-paid group ahead of him. He probably half hopes he gets cut because that means he could go elsewhere and play more.

6. Arnaz Battle - He's coming off a foot injury, had chronic knee woes and is now 29. But Battle remains an elite blocker, a more-than-adequate punt returner, and is a reliable target. He's also the antithesis of the prima dona receiver.

7. Dominique Zeigler - A human highlight in his years on the practice squad and he performed when pressed into the service last year with five catches for 97 yards. He also made seven special teams tackles in limited duty despite never playing on teams before. He's the type of guy you'd love to have around, but obviously his chances are slim.
