I'm a UK grad, a passionate Cat fan and stuck here in Gator country. Grew up in the western part of the state, also lived in L'ville. Married to a PGA Tour player (doesn't play much any more) but it gives me a chance to watch up close and personal our great current Kentucky golfers who are still playing actively. So proud of them!

Anyone Notice that Rider Beat Miss State?
I don't actually even know who Rider is or where they hail from, but I do know they are on our schedule here quickly and they beat #19 Miss St. 88-74 last night. They shot 51% from the field, 62% from the 3, making ten 3's and only turned the ball over 6 times in the game. Did anyone see this game?

Blue Happiness... See Me Doing the Happy Dance?
For all of us who struggle to watch our Cats long distance ... I am drowning in A Sea of Blue happiness. Two weeks ago I changed my television service. Dropped my local cable provider, had my house and pool house rewired... 2 installers started at 10 am and did not leave until 8 that night.
But I now have Dish in virtually every room and it looks like seamless Cat coverage. When I could watch the ULM football game Saturday, my hopes soared for basketball possibilities. And tonight I am watching the Blue & White game live. Not on my computer; not on my phone; not delayed; but a scrimmage game "LIVE" despite the fact that I am here in the heart of Gator country!
Considering that I used to drive to the highest hill (hills can be hard to find in Florida) and sit in my car to listen to Kentucky games on the radio, and that I once listened to an entire game over the phone by making my mother (in Kentucky) sit her phone next to her radio... words cannot describe how happy I am with this coverage.
Only you all would understand...

Calipari goes Camping... He's a Public Relations Genius
"Kentucky Coach John Calipari and his son, Bradley, decided to go on a camping trip Friday night with hundreds, if not thousands, of their new-found friends...."
I so hope he can coach, too. John Calipari is a marketing and pr genius who apparently has that rare skill to read the market spot on. If he coaches as well as he markets then we as fans are in for the best years of our basketball lives.

Anyone Else Find this Annoying?
Saul Smith's warning to the University of Kentucky struck me the wrong way. Considering that he is neither sage with the wisdom of many years nor a player who made a legendary impact on the Wildcats, what puts him in the authority position to "counsel" the University of Kentucky men's basketball program? The Lexington Herald article cites

2000 Wins--Somebody Check My Math
If I understand correctly, we now have win # 1,983 heading to the milestone of 2000 wins.
So figuring we have 7 games left, 6 games to win the NCAA championship, and either 3 or 4 games to win the SEC... we could conceivably hit 2000 in the final game this year. yes? no? Maybe I am miscounting. And I am thinking it means we have to go into the SEC tournament w/o the bye in order to have to play 4 games... but please someone correct my count, because I am just doing this off the top of my head.
And the likelihood of us getting those next 13 wins this year (it that's even the correct number) --okay-- I know, pretty slim. (Forty just taught me this week that Cats statistically lose 1 of every 4 games). Nevertheless, I am a true blue Wildcat and I always believe we stand on the verge of being undefeated in all future games ever.
I believe...

Anyone Else Wondering About Legion?
I was curious about how Alex Legion is doing. He now has 2 games behind him as an Illini for a total of 24 minutes, 6 points, 4 turnovers, a steal, 2 defensive rebounds, and 3 personal fouls ... if my quick math is correct.
Prior to his debut, Weber said, "Scoring-wise, offensively, he's probably our best player. As far as some of the other parts of the game, he's probably not in the top of those, whether it's defense or passing. But he can definitely make a difference. Now we've got to slowly get him involved, and he's got to prove it."
Go JB! Win a Major!
Looks like another Gator is in trouble...big trouble this time.
