Bad Karma for Texans
Maybe they'll think twice about laughing at one of our players getting injured. They might as well have stomped on the Terrible Towel.
Looks like Steeler Nation has another convert
This is what that organization does to people.
Question About A New Contract For Hampton
What's up BTSC! It's the new guy again and I have a question for you guys. Since I haven't been around here long enough I don't know if this was previously thought of.
The labor negotiations are at a standstill and it looks like next year will be an uncapped year. My question is could the Steelers resign Casey to a new contract and structure it to where he earns the bulk of his money the first year and then it goes back down to a more cap friendly amount the next few years? I'm not an expert in the salary cap or team revenue, but I figure that the front office could structure it to let him receive the bulk of his contract in the uncapped year so it doesn't hurt us as much. Then when the new CBA is in place, his yearly earnings go down to a more cap friendly number.
I also think that since we are deep in a lot of positions, we won't need as many draft picks next year which would allow us to sacrifice some picks to move up in the draft for a player that we really like. I would guess that this strategy would help us save money because we won't be dedicating a lot of salary to draft picks.
Can someone more knowledgeable about this help me out?
