The Suns Interested in Jason Thompson?
RealGM lists the Suns as a possible destination for PF-extraordinaire, Jason Thompson.
6/23 Interview With BJ
Don't know if this has been linked to yet but a decently interesting interview with BJ.
Do the Bucks have the best shot to challenge the Heat in the East?
According to Tom Haberstroh, writing for a special for ESPN Insider, they are one of three teams that he targets as potential threats to the Heat's expected dominance.
Interesting stuff from the article after the jump....
My top 3(non-Ridnour) choices for backup PG
After a long and eventful offseason for the Bucks which has seen them make a number of changes the one thing the Bucks have left to do is solidify the backup PG position while staying under the luxury tax. Given the makeup of the Bucks current roster I would like to see 4 criteria in a backup point guard. They are:
1) Solid defender
2) Can hit open jumpshots, in particular 3's
3) Won't turn the ball over
4) Can provide veteran insight and serve as a mentor of sorts to BJ
I think these are particularly important if Maggette is going to be our sixth man because he will dominate the ball most times and we need a guy to spread the floor on that 2nd unit to allow him room to operate and make opponents pay if they pack the lane.
On to my choices...
Bucks contacted Hilton Armstrong
Just a link to an article that mentions the Bucks contacted Hilton Armstong at one point to potentially sign as their backup center.
What are we getting in Hedo Turkoglu?
Here are some stats on Turkoglu to familiarize us all a little better with one of the newest Suns.
Bucks Should Offer Wesley Matthews 3 Year Deal When FA Begins
Psych... but I would like to broach this topic for discussion as we could use one more true 2-guard who can hit threes on this squad and Matthews is a restricted FA this summer... Matthews plays tough defense... hits 3's at a 38% rate... and is a very smart, tough player who played his college ball in the area... perfect fit? Lets dive in...

Ron Artest, The Least Self-Aware Person Ever?
So after game 5 yesterday we all heard Ron Artest's interview about how Kobe got fouled on the last play and thats why he went after that airball so aggressively. He was clearly wrong, the Suns just played good defense and forced Kobe to double clutch so we will excuse him for that but after the game Steve Nash made these comments...

Bucks Draft Possibilities - Part 1/3 - The 1st Round Big Guys
My take on potential Bucks draft picks assuming they keep the 15th pick and nothing major happens via trade or free agency between now and then... Also, I'll briefly look at what they could do with their 2nd rounders in a follow up segment... This article will highlight the potential frontcourt players the Bucks could select...

Earl Clark Sent to D-League
According to ESPN.com... "Suns rookie forward Earl Clark has been sent to the D-League's Iowa Energy. He has not played that much this season and the Suns want him to get some game action. His stint will last three games.
"He just needs some minutes," Suns general manager Steve Kerr told The Arizona Republic. "The best way to develop is to play. He's done a great job in practice, but we haven't had a lot of practice time."
Larry Hughes
The Kings just bought out Larry Hughes...
With the Bucks making their playoff push hould we add another big veteran wing to our rotation?
Channing Frye
A look at 7ft small forward Channing Frye through stats and analysis....
Robin Lopez
Since it was so fun and divisive to discuss Amare Stoudemire over the last few weeks I thought I'd open a thread to discuss your assessments of Robin Lopez as he currently is and how he projects for the future.
What is wrong with the Suns? I'll tell you...
The Suns seemingly have a good mix of all-star talent(Nash, Stat), solid role players(Dudley, Richardson, Hill, Barbosa), and young contributers(Dragic and Lopez)... so what is wrong with the Phoenix Suns? Why can't they break into the upper echelon of the West as their roster is currently constructed? How would you change their roster in order to make them a contender? There has been a lot of evaluation of Stoudemire lately but I would like this to be an evaluation of the team as a whole and what needs to be done to get this team back on the contending track.
My thoughts...

Amare Stoudemire vs. LaMarcus Aldridge
I would like to take an in depth look at who is better at this game we call basketball.
Let's look at the stats.
Realistic Ways to Improve the Bucks
It is no surprise to anyone that the Bucks aren't really a contender at this point in time and will need to make a couple moves in order to insure they become one in the near future. As I see it the Bucks have some really good bench players on their team and really just need to add two things in order to become a contender.
1) An athletic frontcourt player - a guy who can alter shots, rebound the ball, atheltically finish at the rim, and is a good post defender
2) A scoring wing - a guy who can get his own shot late in the shot clock, get to the free throw line consistantly, collapse the defense
Realistic Options for Need #1
Through the Draft: SG Evan Turner and SF Wesley Johnson(probably only if we start losing more or their stock drops), SG Xavier Henry, SG Willie Warren, SF Al-Farouq Aminu and SG Avery Bradley
Through FA: None
Through Trade: SG Leandro Barbosa(alot of talk on their forums to get rid of him)... obviously there are more that we could trade for but alot of them would be too expensive financially or trade wise
-Also could hope that Meeks develops into this type of player
Realistic Options for Need #2
Through the Draft: Patrick Pattersen, Ed Davis, Derrick Favors, Larry Sanders...Jarvis Varnardo(2nd round)
Through FA: Marcus Camby, Tyson Chandler, Joel Pryzbilla(yes a 5, but can defend and rebound well), Amir Johnson
Through Trade: ???
Realistically What Could/Should Happen:
I like a lot of the wing players in this draft and think they have the potential to be really good players in this league so since you always should draft for the best player available instead of need I would draft one of them. Say we can get Xavier Henry(http://www.nbadraft.net/players/xavier-henry) in the first, Varnardo in the 2nd.
Or you could think Meeks is going to develop into that scorer and go for one of the bigs in the 1st.
Discuss...
What would you do if you were the Bucks GM during the draft?
If I were the Bucks GM I would do the following:
1) Trade the #10 pick to the Bulls for picks #16 and #26.
Reasoning: The Bucks need to fill two spots in PG and PF and no one with star potential will be around during this pick. Only exception is if Jordan Hill is available, then maybe you take him and get a young PG like Patrick Beverly at #41. Beverly would backup Ridnour for cheap and provides "Tenacious Defense" and a "Great Motor" according to ESPN.
2) Pick PF Gani Lawal at #16. Pick PG Ty Lawson at #26. Or Vice Versa depending on their current draft stock.
Reasoning: The Bucks won't go into the luxury tax and trading down in draft where after the first few handful of players it is a crapshoot. They can sign both these players for slighty more than they would pay the #10 pick alone.
Lawal is very intriguing because he is uber athletic and has a skill that translates to the NBA in rebounding. Lawson would serve as a good backup to Ridnour for cheap with some upside.
3) At #41 pick a foreign player to stash away oversees for the future.
Reasoning: Risk/Reward factor here. Plus it allows the Bucks to own the rights to another player without having to clear roster space immediately. A guy like PG Nando De Colo with great upside would be excellent.
What would you guys do?
