I am a run scorer
Per TH. Edit: One of the corresponding moves is Lucroy's activation from the DL. The other is Jim Henderson's callup from AAA. - Cheeseandcorn
Jonathon Lucroy’s defense has been a somewhat hot topic in recent months, mostly centered around Randy Wolf’s desire to work with somebody, anybody else. Last night against the Yankees,...
Let's get all the negatives out of the way. Opening Day is indeed amatuer hour, the New Years Eve of baseball games. It brings out all kinds of idiots who still think JJ Hardy is on the team...
Had a Amazon gift card from Christmas to use and picked up a couple of older John Sickels prospect books. Thought it was interesting to see how the current Brewer team looked when they were in...
I am assuming every other player in question is being tendered a contract.
Sources are saying that Brewers have hired Ron Roenicke The timing is right on this, though this would be the 3rd manager "sources" have linked to the Brewers.
Bo has brought on Lamont Paris to replace Howard Moore. The big rumor was Freddie Owens, but Bo went outside the box with this one. Don't know a lot about Paris - he has a lot of experience as...
With the August 16th signing deadline for draft picks fast approaching, I thought I'd use this space to post updates on signings as they come in. Today's news was the signing of 7th round pick...
From Andrew Wagner of OnMilwaukee.com: The Brewers have released right-hander Jeff Suppan, who was in the final year of a four-year contract. Suppan 0-2 this season with a 7.84 ERA in 15 appearances. After starting the season on the disabled list, Suppan made two starts before being moved to the bullpen. Since signing a $42 million contract with the Brewers after the 2006 season, Suppan posted a 29-36 record with a 5.08 ERA. By releasing Suppan, the team clears space on both the 25 and 40-man roster, which will allow them to replace Todd Coffey, who was placed on the disabled list Sunday with a thumb injury. EDIT: The JSBlog says the Brewers have purchased the contract of RHP Chris Smith from Nashville.
h/t BF.net Kind of an interesting listen, especially his view on Gamel. Some observations/quotes: -- No OF prospects in AAA (duh), but mentioned Haydel along with Gindl and Cain as potential prospects in AA -- Gindl - "spark plug" "more of a middle of the pack type player" -- Gamel "had a couple shots and not taken the job" -- 2b strong suit in org - Weeks, Lawrie and Farris -- 1b depth - "needs to be addressed" -- Lawrie thought he would progress quickly to MLB by catching, changed his mind after first instructional league. Has done nice job at 2B, can also play 3B and played OF in high school He also says "about' just like you would expect a Canadian to which is always fun to listen to.
I started a Facebook group for Brewer fans living in Chicago. Basically I'm just looking to see what kind of interest there is and go from there. Ideally, I think it would be cool to have a couple bar outings during the season or at the very least be able to identify a couple Brewer friendly bars to catch games. Feel free to sign up or pass along to your friends who may not read BCB.

Mark Rogers, RHP: Rogers’ stuff was outstanding after missing two years due to shoulder problems, but can he pitch more than three innings every five days? 13. Caleb Gindl, OF: He’s a small outfielder and very low on tools, but his production at the plate has been impressive. 14. Jake Odorizzi, RHP: He has advanced command and control for his age, but Odorizzi’s stuff has yet to take the expected step forward. 15. Zach Braddock, LHP: This power lefty took a big step forward with a move to bullpen; he has the ceiling of a set-up man.
Via BP.com. This looks like an amazing PT job for those in the Milwaukee area.
Via TH: I just talked to assistant GM Gord Ash who said Riske "casually" mentioned some tightness in the elbow over the weekend and said it did not subside in recent days. Ash said there's some slight swelling to go with the tightness but right now the severity is unknown.
I'm guessing this will be music to many fan's ears: "I could see him getting at least one day off a week, but he's not going to be happy about it," said Macha, who was Kendall's manager in Oakland in 2005 and 2006. "It's just too bad." What a manager says on February 16th and what he actually does throughout the season can be drastically different, but I think this is a good sign nonetheless.

Caleb Gindl, RF Just Missed: Evan Frederickson, LHP; Taylor Green, 3B; Seth Lintz, RHP Ranking Challenges: There is no true, classic top prospect in the system, but a set of five very good prospects that are hard to separate, as they all combine much to like with significant issues. The dropoff from the first five is sizeable, as the system's become rather mediocre quickly due to graduations and trades. There was nothing earth shattering in any of their comments. I'm a bit surprised on how high they were on players from the recent draft instead of current players like Taylor Green.
I did not see this one coming, though I think I like the hire.
For 3 prospects. SgtClueLs beat me to it
