Riske to DL; Swindle up

I just talked to assistant GM Gord Ash who said Riske "casually" mentioned some tightness in the elbow over the weekend and said it did not subside in recent days. Ash said there's some slight swelling to go with the tightness but right now the severity is unknown.

I'm guessing this will be music to many fan's ears:

"I could see him getting at least one day off a week, but he's not going to be happy about it," said Macha, who was Kendall's manager in Oakland in 2005 and 2006. "It's just too bad."

What a manager says on February 16th and what he actually does throughout the season can be drastically different, but I think this is a good sign nonetheless.

Ranking Challenges: There is no true, classic top prospect in the system, but a set of five very good prospects that are hard to separate, as they all combine much to like with significant issues. The dropoff from the first five is sizeable, as the system's become rather mediocre quickly due to graduations and trades.

There was nothing earth shattering in any of their comments. I'm a bit surprised on how high they were on players from the recent draft instead of current players like Taylor Green.
