Mile High Report So now what...T.O?

I had this conversation with a friend of mine the other night and I said I wouldn't be surprised if B Marsh got shipped out that DEN looked at TO on a 1 year deal.  I know i know let the bashing begin.

Say what you want about this guy but he has proven he can keep his mouth shut (Buffalo) and he can still play (not at the same level).  I think you would be hard pressed to suggest that Royal, McKinley and others would be seen as a #1 guy ahead of TO, and even if you think one of them is are the others better as a number #2.

I think we will still draft another young gun in the second round, maybe even Bryant (I am worried about this guy).  But can you think of a better guy between the lines (stress between the lines) that can teach the likes of Royal, McKinley and Bryant (or whomever)?

Considering that Denver has been looking to add depth at virtually every position over the past two off seasons this would fit with their off season strategy.

Just a thought....

Mile High Report SIMS..?

Can someone explain to me why this guy isn't on the radar of the Broncos.  At 26 years of age he started 14 games last year and has a 4th round tender.  Does this not make sense to take a guy like this, fill the hole on the offensive line and leave us in a great spot in roudns 1 and 2 to address other needs or more importantly take the best player available?

Mile High Report Someone Always Falls..who will it be this year?

I have always said that 10-12 is one of the best spots to draft in the NFL as the money goes down considerably and the talent is still top notch at this level.  One thing that I have also noticed is 1 player always slips.  Usually a team moves up to get a player or another team takes a player that was never on anyone's top 10 board (hello Oakland..).  With that being said...who will be the player that falls this year.  My guess is it is Haden.  Not because he is not great, he is, but rather  I have a sneaking suspicion that Cleveland is going to find a way to trade up and take Bradford.

So 2 questions I have for everyone..who is going to be the player that drops the most & secondly if that player drops..do the Broncos take him?

Mile High Report What About Shaun Andrews...

At 27 years old and 330lbs what is the real risk for the Broncos in making this guy an offer.  Regardless of whether they bring him on or not DEN will still need to draft a G but it takes the pressure off of a rookie to come in and start right away.  As a 2 pro bowler this is an instant upgrade to what we are looking at for the '10 season.  Yes, I am aware of the baggage but someone is going to take 1 more shot on this guy...maybe the Broncos will be that team.  A contract with lots of incentives and little guaranteed money is the way to go.

Mile High Report Stallworth?

I am not conveinced that Clev will cut Stallworth - he is too talented & the browns are young at WR and short on talent..but...there is a possibility that this could happen.  Would it surprise me to see Stallworth added to Dev, considering the ties to NE and the insecurity of Marshall (Royal and even Stokely to a certain extent)..I wouldn't be surprised.  I think there are teams that would pay him more...just a possibility.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth will be reinstated to play at some point after Sunday's Super Bowl, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Friday at his annual state-of-the-league address. Stallworth was suspended without pay for the 2009 season last August after reaching a plea agreement on a DUI manslaughter charge in Miami.

Mile High Report Tony to Miami?

This looks like a good spot for Tony, not sure it will happen but the more options the better. .........

NFL people who spoke with the Dolphins at the Senior Bowl said they made clear they want to add a tight end with speed and receiving skills to beat defenses downfield. The Dolphins might keep likely restricted free agent Anthony Fasano but remain noncommittal. Fasano played 78.5 percent of Miami's offensive snaps, Joey Haynos 51.2.

Mile High Report 1st & 3rd..forget it

There seems to be a lot of posts about the immenant departure of Brandon Marshall and that in return the Broncos will receive a 1st and a 3rd round pick.

It is not going to happen folks..as much as I wish it would.

Sure we can all speak about Roy Williams but he is the exception not the rule.

Chad wanted out, TO wanted out, BOldin wanted out...they didn't get what they wanted.  Even Moss when he did go to NE was for a case of beer.

Important to remember here is that Marshall is not a deep sideline threat, he is great, but he is a possession guy that is great after the catch.  You dont give up 1 & 3 for this...sorry.

Add in that he is a royal pain in the ass, has major character issues and is 100% a me first kind of guy and you can see why the 1 & 3 won't happen.

Lastly, why do people put Baltimore in the list of suitors for Mashall.  Does Ozzie or Harbaugh look like the type of guys/organization that would go for first and third for this guy?

New England..nope...

Miami (this one made me laugh out loud) with Parcells at the helm..are you high?

I think the Broncos are a willing seller but I think the expectations need to be managed here a little becuase i think the buyers while intrigued with the talent, wont like the asking price.

My prediction...the broncos get a second rounder and a player.

Here is hoping for a 1 & a 3...just dont think it is gonig to happen.

Mile High Report O-Line SOS!

I was speaking to a friend of mine last night who asked the question 'what happened?' which got me thinking - Ryan Harris.

This is where it really started to go wrong.  Originally I thought that the O line was really one of the Broncos strengths but when Harris went down it set off a domino effect.

Harris..then the disappearance of Hamilton followed by the sudden aging of Wiegman and we were in trouble.  Add Polumbus who is terrible and looks like he is wearing roller skates and Hochstein who is serviceable but not a starter and this was where it went wrong.

I could be convinced that we need to draft a QB to sit behind Orton for a year due to the high pick but we need to really address this O line going forward.

The running game and the passing game are dependent on it.

Also, with all of this poor play where was Seth Olsen?  Is he that far behind?  Also was releasing Kory L the best plan?  Kory was a G/C and could have been useful to us.

Lastly let me say this, Orton is NOT the problem - he has been great all year.
