TUSCALOOSA - University of Alabama football player Jeremy Elder was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, according to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office Web site.
&lt;p&gt;Elder, a freshman defensive tackle, was arrested on Sunday and had yet to be released from jail pending an $120,000 bond.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;He was arrested by the University of Alabama police, but details of the arrest were not immediately available. A spokesman did not return a call seeking comment.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;According to state law, first-degree robbery involves either a "deadly weapon or dangerous instrument" or someone causing "serious physical injury to another."&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The a 6-foot-3, 271-pounder sat out the 2007 season redshirting.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A Crimson Tide football spokesman did not immediately return a call seeking comment.&lt;/p&gt;
