While I have been a Cubs fan since 1984, a relatively new phenomenon has caught my attention. In the past few years, have seen a great increase in the amount of green or shamrock Cubs gear. Is there some significance? I can't recall if there's some special connection with the Cubs and the Irish. Perhaps it's just a way to sell more Cubs merchandise? I actually like the look, and both my wife and I purchase something new around St. Patrick's Day, because hey, if you're going to celebrate, you might as well celebrate with Cubs gear.
