I really believe Stephen Curry will be the top rookie next season. He has charisma, ballhandling ability and great shooting range. Realize that last season at Davidson he saw a lot of double-teaming and even triple-teaming. Curry saw gimmick defenses and found ways to score; he still led the nation in scoring, averaging well over 28 points per game. I feel Curry is the best perimeter player available and Golden State made a great pick.

Gotta love this

This is a totally random post, but in all seriousness Jonathan Casillas is the son of Flash Gordon. It's at the bottom of the link under personal. I'm officially a huge fan.
Flash! ah-ahh!

Saints Draft Board

I'm not going to claim to be a football guru so I'm just going to make a limited draft board. But the main point of this post is to get everyone else's input on the subject of a Saints Draft Board. Anyway I'm sort of going to try and focus merely on realistic possibilities at 14 but feel free to comment however you want. PS lets assume there's no trading down. Saying that if Sanchez started to slip we might be able to get some good value for 14.

Aaron Curry - never gonna happen but just thinking about it makes me smile

Malcom Jenkins - regardless of his 40 time he's the best DB in the draft and G. Willy likes him

B.J. Raji - again not too plausible but he'd really help us control the trenches

From here on I'm not too sure

Brian Cushing - He could really solidify a linebacking core consisting of Vilma and the under appreciated Fujita, Go Golden Bears (I'm from the Berkeley area but for whatever reason I've always loved the Saints)

Vontae Davis - regardless of what people say he has ALL the tools to be a shutdown corner, also my dad is an Fighting Illini alum so I've been watching him for awhile and he's good!

Clay Matthews - Honestly I don't know much about him and he's been considered the third best USC linebacker for awhile so I'm skepticle but others have been pimping him so I'll trust your opinions

Beanie Wells - He would pretty much complete an already potent offense. If he didn't fit soooo well I'd say we must go defense but if Payton chooses him my heart will only skip one beat and then I'll try and rationalize the choice the same way I did with Meachem(please reach your potential Meech).

Alex Mack - This is kind of a hometown pick, Cal Bears again, but I'd bet big money (please don't make any lame comments about taking me up on this bet) that he'll be an all-pro center for years to come. Not only may he be the best center in the draft but he's the smartest with a couple Academic All-American awards to back it up. This makes more sense if we trade down and if I wasn't following all of the precedents I've made for this post but he's my personal pick for a darkhorse draftee.

So how would all of you, especially the truly educated fans, construct a Saints Draft Board? I'm so excited for the Draft!

I have always loved this guy. When healthy he is a beast kind of like Deuce was. I'm guessing he was released for financial reasons not an utter lack of ability. He could add some veteran muscle(6'1 228) to the back field. So if he is within our price range I'd say take him.

Vontae Davis! He is a 6 ft tall, 204 pound defensive back with elite athleticism, oh yeah and some attitude problems. Okay so this isn't the most plausible scenario but there aren't any safeties worth the 14th selection. So if we don't trade down for some extra picks then we should still try to fix our most glaring weakness, safety. If he could be convinced that it would be in both of our best interests to try it out for a while then we may find the answer to the safety dilemma or possibly another good cornerback.

Davis is known for being a physical corner who is comfortable blitzing. And, he has the size and speed to take over the center of the field a la Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu. Alright so that's a bold statement but I think his cieling is that high... reaching it would be another thing. I'm pretty sure both those guys have some heavy ring fingers though.

Interestingly his brother is Vernon Davis(6th overall pick by the 49ers) who was part of the infamous sideline altercation with Mike Singletary. Obviously that brings up red flags but there are also reports out of SF that it really made Vernon get his shit together and he showed overall improvement thereafter. Maybe his brother Vontae got the message that he won't be able to f**k around at the next level.

Anyway, the inpiration for this post came from two things. The fact that we can't find a safety worth the 14th pick as well as the idea of converting one of our corners to safety. Does anyone think that Usama or another one of our corners could play safety? Also do you think Vontae could/would/should? Who do you think will be the starting free safety next season?

I say G SOM but G S O M could work, really whatever, this site rules. Now to Warriors stuff. I understand all of the frustration right now, I did cry monday night (almost... seriously!!!) But please Don Nelson is one of the best coaches ever. And I know he hasn't won a championship. But stop hating he understands the game better than any of us. Let this drama in the front office play out before you cash in you're chips. If brandan wright wasn't so weak Nelly could afford to shy away from small ball but he is so we're stuck. NBA basketball is complicated. WTF MONTA, YOU ARE MY MAN CRUSH(no homo) that means you don't get hurt, mopeds are kinda sweet though. Anyway, Monta adds another dimesion to the team because he is such an efficient and electric scorer, can someone say pick and roll. We don't have anything like him currently. And stop being negative, Jackson's extension works in the long run he is a very good all around player who runs this team, he's a passionate and effective leader. Anyone who says he doesn't lead this team, is ignorant. Maggette should only be a temporary solution, if you can call him a solution, then bundle Mags with some of our trade bait for a POWER forward. I have confidence in a backcourt with crawford and monta. Randolph and Wright have great promise but a strong power forward with some post moves and good defense is required for this team to be something. It doesn't look good but the warriors aren't done yet. And Mullin obviously won't be kept unless his recent moves prove successful. It's not like we've been blown out in every loss, we almost won quite a few. We Believe... in

PATIENCE

P.S. my first post (don't hurt me)
