I love the Boise State Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Cubs and Miami Dolphins - not necessarily in that order, just depending on the season. The little woman loves her Phillies and that's about it. I come from Idaho, so my love for my teams is not limited to geography.

It happens only once, maybe twice a year: Armageddon Saturday. Upset Weekend. The Great Ranking Debacle of the Year. This weekend may have been the beginning of the assistance Boise State needs in order to position itself into a possible date with the NCG, seeing as the college football viewing public was treated to the start of some good upsets. Notice something different when watching the Broncos take on the New Mexico State Aggies on Saturday night? Lack of blue? Check. A member of the WAC dregs as an opponent? Check two. Shoddy camerawork, low-grade announcers and a switcher just hired out of Stevens Henager? Check, check, and... check. Ordinarily for Bronco fans, this would indicate the beginning of KTVB's annual "We May Not Be ESPN, But We're All You Got" Tour, but that annoying red "7" was notoriously absent and was replaced by a pseudo-professional-looking WSN logo. Welcome to the WAC sports network, you may check your sanity at the door.

I know I haven't seen Vs. in a long time - hell, since they and DirecTV started their spat - but I have just a little something to say concerning where they're at and where they want to go, and how this may concern the NHL in their future plans with NBC Universal and Comcast's merger. If you start thinking about the direction Versus is headed, well, we may just have to look at their competitor/big brother/inspiration in the family of ESPN networks. Okay, so I'm just a little bored at work and decided to finally put in y two cents worth. I'm new to MHH, but I've taken some time to look at the community and now have the desire to introduce myself to all of you with a short history on why I love the Avs and hockey in general.
