Bryant agrees to play in Italy during NBA lockout

Former USC guard Daniel Hackett, a dual citizen who plays for Pesaro in Italy, said he would give Bryant a hostile reception if he faced the former NBA MVP. "The only way to stop a player that good is with a hard foul and he knows that," Hackett said. "I’ve got five fouls to commit and they’re going to be the hardest five fouls I’ve ever committed."

Aldridge pledges $1,000 a point vs. Spurs for Japanese relief efforts

Oh no, we're screwed. Aldridge will be gunning for 100 pts tonight. Yes, it's for a good cause, but can it be a win-win situation for us and Japan? He scores lots of points, Japan gets donation money, we get the W and every Spurs fan will be happy.

Tough road trip now tougher for Spurs

Blair back: After missing Monday’s game with a sprained left wrist, Blair is expected to be available tonight in Denver. After Tuesday’s practice, Blair and general manager R.C. Buford called the decision to sit him against Golden State precautionary. "I could have played but picked a night to sit out," Blair said. "I’m back now and just going to fight through the pain."

NBA prospects to watch in NCAA tourney

5. Harrison Barnes, SG/SF, North Carolina, freshman, 6-8, 210 pounds – Scout’s take: "He started to come on late in the season. … Would be nice to see him build on late-season success and see some consistency from him. … [Former UNC guard Larry] Drew wasn’t getting his teammates involved, whereas Kendall Marshall goes in and penetrates and kicks. Barnes has been the beneficiary. … He’s fundamentally sound in all areas. He has a good jump shot, great body size, good footwork – shooting with jab steps – and can create to get his own shot." NBA comparison: Paul Pierce(notes), Richard Jefferson(notes).

Sterling’s attitude may lead Griffin to leave eventually

Hey Blake, if ever you leave LA, you might want to consider playing for the Spurs.

The truth about Kobe Bryant in crunch time

When Bryant is on the floor in crunch time, Bryant's Lakers are actually outscored by their opponents. A great offensive team performing at average levels, with a star setting records for number of shots attempted. Teammates left wide open. Evidence, even, that Bryant's play puts his team into nailbiters that needn't be so close. That, my friends, is a ball hog.

Abbott: Not the same old Spurs

This is an article by a die-hard Portland homie saying that Portland's win over the Spurs was a fluke.

I can't believe Manu was top two. He should've been top one and Pierce top two. Compare both players on how they celebrated after their clutch shots. Manu just had a clenched fist after the shot, nothing fancy; but Pierce had that "the Jet" victory action. Again, a perfect example of the Spurs' humility. I could not wait for us to beat these guys. The best of the East vs the best of the West after 24 games.

Spurs band together for another run

Duncan can smile. After all this time, he still has Parker on one side and Ginobili on the other. Nearly a week before Christmas, and the Spurs are looking down on the NBA. New age? OOPS....this was already posted. Nothing new here. Or same old one?

Who knew that Gary Neal can see the Quinn and another hobbit-friend as he had daps with them after a free throw.

-Manu Ginobili is really damn good. Yes, he can be over-dramatic at times, but let's be clear: this guy can ball with anyone on the planet. Just a very unique, very talented player -Tiago Splitter is going to be pretty good too. Maybe not Tim Duncan good, but still. He got hammered tonight by Love, but you can see the potential there. More than anything, he looks like he's just trying to find a comfort zone and adjust to the NBA pacing and rules. His 16-7-2 averages in the ACB league last year are up in the Pau Gasol stratosphere. I think it's just a matter of time before he figures it out, takes over the Spurs' other starting spot in the paint, and starts being the new Tim Duncan as the old Tim Duncan eases into the vacant David Robinson role.
