In all the mocks I have seen for Dallas on BTB and other sites one glaring need continues to not be addressed.  Some fans may say we are fine in this area, but I strongly disagree.  Ignoring this glaring hole on our team is irresponsible on Jerry's behalf.  It is obvious to other players and fans in the league when you look at what they are saying about us.  It has caused much riduclue in the football community and we cannot ignore this facet of the team any longer.  We must improve...Free Reign!

SB Nations's draft blog, Mocking the Draft, just put out a scouting report for C/G prospect Maurkice Pouncey.  In light of Raf's artcile about what qualities The Boys look for in a Center I can see where this guy may fit our scheme.  It sounds like he could need a year to work on his technique with heavy NT's, but what rookie OL couldn't use a year to develop?  He probably wouldn't start next year but he could be a solid addition to our aging O-line in the years to come.  I am not sold on using a first round pick on someone whould wouldn't start in 2010, but this may be a reality if we don't go Saftey with our first pick. 

My gut tells me The Boys have him rated as a top of the second round talent.  If no one else with a first round grade is there at 27 i can see Jerry moving down to the top 5-10 picks of the second and trying to pounce on Pouncey.  Sorrry...couldn't resist.

For those of you, like me, who look forward to seeing how our Boys look in the Madden ratings every year, here is a teaser.  It only has overall, speed, and an acceleration rating for most skill players but it’s better than nothing. 

It's all I could find on the web (thanks http://www.pastapadre.com/, this site is great for all you sports-oriented video gamers!)

My opinions from looking at it briefly:

• -Marty B should have a little more speed/acceleration
• -Columbo should be a few points better overall, at least on par w/ Kosier
• -Ratliff should be around 90 based on how dominant he can be in games.
• -Spears and Scandrick only 71’s, come on!
• -Bradie an 82 I would not have a huge issue with if Brooking were not an 86

I may just be a homer with an XBOX360.  What do you guys think of the ratings?

BTW- my gamertag is texmsmrfc if anyone ever wants to play.

From ESPN...

Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook will have surgery Friday to clean up some bone spurs in his right ankle, according to his agent, Todd France.

The Eagles called the procedure "a debridement" of the ankle.

France had no timetable for Westbrook's return but characterized the procedure as minor. Another source, however, said the surgery could sideline Westbrook well into training camp. Eagles veterans report to training camp on July 29.
