Battle Red Blog Homefield Advantage...Possible...No Probable

Now that the South Conference Champions have been crowned. We need to focus on getting Home Field Advantage. Carolina, Indy and Bud's (little second place) Bitches two of the three at home it is finally becoming clear that we have a good chance of gaining HFA. Who else has a chance... well NE of course has the Broncos, Fins, and Bills....Unless Tebow of God strikes again (And unless God, Jesus, and special guest appearance at WR by Mohammed-doesn't seem like it will happen) they will win out...Baltimore with SD, the Browns and Cincy could drop one maybe two if those teams not named the browns Step up.

Battle Red Blog Not to rub it in ....

Well the chickens have come to roost.... after all of the put downs, all of the TROLL Taggging... All of the BRB BS... which called me crazy... said I had little or no....knowledge of football and the lowest of all one of you said ((( I WAS A FRIGGIN" COWSLUT FAN)))... Well time makes one wise and Andre' as I predicted has suffered an injury... Now we have to settle for KW (or the Snail) and Bozo JONES... I know what you (and Koobes)said KW and JJ's numbers are as good as any #2 WR in the league... You are right... however that currently puts us one reciever short even with them both of them on the field.... Now I hope I am WRONG, but JJ as the number 1... just gives me ulcers... Oh I hear ya JJ stepped up last year.... He did but it was not enough to get us to the playoffs...I just want to say that I am hearing more and more that we need another WR all over this sacred blog... and no one is blasting them now... that's all I am sayin''' I will accept any apoligies... but aint asking for any..... So nows a good time to share your thoughts... because it is a long way through Tennesee with stops in Oakland and Baltimore... before the Messiah of WRs returns.... I would die if we 3-3 going into that one.

Battle Red Blog Okay I know Defense is OUR Priority BUT....

As the title says we do have to rebuild the defense.... but there are still some concerns on the Offensive side of the ball that need to be addressed...

1. Rick " Bleeds Orange and Blue" Denison will he call the plays this year or is Kubes " Bleeds Orange and Blue (when he's alone)"  going to hog the show? What do they need to do to infuse some first half points....6+ points avg in the first half is not going to cut it in this division or league for that matter...

2. Back up QB--- good thing we had a Healthy QB, but sooner or later Bam Alice - right in the mouth and I believe Matt Lienart is history. and that other guy Oaflousy.... my skin is crawling at just the thought...

3. Wide out... Jakespere is probably out... Kevin Walter doesn't scare anyone... and is Dickerson ready? even with him we need a wideout to take the pressure off Dre' and by doing that the run game could go to a whole new level..

4. O line-- even though we had the top rusher in the league last season the sack numbers rose.. we have to have some good reserves to be able to establish a rotation to rest them up from time to time.

So please share your views and realistic fixes with possible prospects to assist the offense...

Battle Red Blog Okay Skool Me

The Texans have really have me thinking that bleach may be a good cocktail after last game. We are by far the best imploding teams next to the Houston Oilers I have ever seen...We find a way to lose. That being the case I am kinda shocked as to how they are still in the running mathmatically to make the playoffs and possibly win the division. Hypothetically could someone explain to me how this may happen...? Seriously I can't see it unless the North Koreans launch missles on the AFC west cities... our the rest of the league goes on strike... or even if they go to the Emerald City to see the wizard and he grants them wishes they would give it up... Please explain it to me..

Battle Red Blog Need a QB and Matt Aint Him...

If the Texans have made the call to talk to Matt Leinart.. then the Texans do have an interest. I personally think that is asking for a distraction. No matter what he says or does Leinart wants to be a number 1.. However Matt Schaub is the man in H-town. Sure Leinart is better than Orlousy and probably better than the Big Booty daddy... However what truly could provide the Texans with a safety net at QB isn't available unless we can make a possible trade. Are their any souces on-line that will list all the Qb's available? If so please post them here. If not list all the QB's that are free agents in this blog and as a group we can decide who are the top three choices and possibly put and keep those names out there until Smithiak makes a decision.... The alternative is to blow the best chances we have for making this a season to remember and prepare for the next FO and possibly another few years repeating history.. BRB Nation let your voices be heard...

Battle Red Blog Lets Talk About Additions and Subtractions

Many of you have said that we would look to game 3 to make definitive picks for selections and cuts that will take place after Aug 31st. But why wait I always say... Who do you think will be available at what positions and what do you think OUR texans will do.

AND NO we cannot trade Kris Brown, Okam and Kubiak for futre considerations... I am thinking these are the positions we really need some help with and if availability is there we should make a move.

1. Defensive Interior Lineman--- We should be grab a couple of beefers where we can give several looks whether 3-4 or 4-3...

2. We should look for some additional help for the offensive line--- Where's Chester when you need him?

3. Another back would be nice one that is big enough to play full back who can assist on short yardage

4. Veteran assistance at FS and corner.

Battle Red Blog NFL QB WAG Rankings out on BR

They just posted the rankings of QB Wives and Girlfriends on  the bleacher report. I really wonder what the WAGS are saying about their rankings. Here's a real gem the author says ...

"There's tons of QB WAG mediocrity out there, folks. I could take up slides showing you pictures of Melody Carr, Ashley Manning, Robin Pennington, Shaelyn Palmer, Kelli Croyle, Abby Manning and Julie Huard, but that's a disservice to your time."

He also places Colt McCoys girl in this mix.. Sam Bradford's girlfriend  is Honorable Mention.  Heather Mitts (AJ), Freely at #15, Candice (T. Romo) Crawford is 14,  Vince Young's Candice Johnson at No 10....Kyle Boller scores big with Carrie Prejean at # 6... but face it guys (and girls?) you can't be a winner unless you're top five material... I don't want to spoil it for you.... I will say that Jeff Garcia must be dealing with a monster.... see it for yourself and post your comments...

Also check out the Tim Tebow hits..... 2 ideas on him --- lying or gay as hell

Battle Red Blog Important Texan Thoughts

I have always been an unconditional Texan fan... however it seems in our short NFL tenure we make better with our  latter round picks than early picks. That said I believe the Smithenstein monster will make a boom or bust (probably bust this year) in the draft with the 20th. I know we need these spots filled DB- OL .. Okay I agree with these needs as legitimate.... The order of these in my opinion would be in the above order. Other needs is where some of you may trip with me but I go with my gut and past experiences....  use the first three  picks for the above positions... but my thought turn to the futre of building a sucessful franchise.. That said -- with pick 3 you go for a quarterback ( I have no faith in DO- If Tebow is there- go with him but Jevan Snead/Zac Robinson/Tony Pike would be good alternatives). Although we are pretty deep at this position we could make a few trades such as with Andre Davis, David Anderson, or Martinez. Within picks 4-6= you must get a future/present slot reciever ( would like to get Jordan Shipley if he is available-- Andre Roberts, Emanuel Sanders, Chris Carter)most of these guys have decent speed and sure hands which will aid in possesion receptions and separation.  In that same 4-6 pick group a kicker should be drafted Tiftfen, Swenson or Pettrey should give Blow it Brown a run for the money at less money.
