Well, according this little snippet Arnott will not be joining the team for the rest of the year. I have to say I'm not surprised if Steen and BigMac are coming back this week, but on the flip side I do think having some old grizzled veteren being a constant pressence in the locker room is something this team is missing right now, if you think about it thats the biggest difference between last years roster and this years, we had Arnott and Langs in there last year, this year its pretty much neither of tham thanks to Langs being out with hip surgery.

So I've got a ticket for sale for the 23rd of February against the Blue Jackets. Section 113 Row W, the blues are calling it a gold level game which puts the face value at 75, I'd like to get 70 for it. Cash monies is preferred and I will print out the ticket for in person delivery or we could arrange for delivery via the ticket exchange thing which is where I'm putting up after a week or so here, figured I'd give you all first shot at it.

UPDATE (Sunday, April 29 at 12:42 p.m.): Coach Ken Hitchcock told reporters after Sunday's practice that Alex Pietrangelo is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. "Don't be writing him off yet," Hitchcock said.

So our stud defenseman does not look to be concussed, but since things are day to day, its hard to say if he'll be back or not anytime soon. Lets hope sooner rather than later.

Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo left Saturday's Game 1 after being pushed into the boards by Kings' forward Dwight King in the second period.

Pietrangelo's head hit the corner boards and King was given a two-minute boarding penalty.

"We'll evaluate him tonight and give you an update tomorrow," Blues Coach Ken Hitchcock said after Saturday's game. "We'll figure it out tomorrow and see how he feels and go from there. If he's not in, somebody else gets to jump up...somebody will have to step up and elevate their game."

Through six Playoff games, Pietrangelo leads all Blues defenseman in scoring with 4 points (0 goals, 4 assists).

So on my way into work this morning NPH had a peice about the NHL and pentalies. Aside from the obvious fact that they had no clue what hockey was or is, and explained it in a manner indicating that the audience isnt familiar with it (a penalty is when someone does something wrong and he has to go sit by him self while his team only plays with four players, while the other team plays with five (and this is a power play...)). Anyway, they did some fancy statistical analysis and came to the conclusion that teams wearing black jerseys get an average of 2 more minutes in the box the guys in white. Personally I dont think the results of this are very conclusive just for the fact of how inconsistant the refs are in the league. Anway, here is da link:

Charles Glen and the National Anthem

So if you've been to a few games over the past couple of years, you know that we got a fellow named Charles! who does a damn good job of singing the anthem before most of the games. With this he also asks the crowd to sing along with him, but he is still the primary singer. Tonight (4-6, the home closer of the regular season), was not the case.

As soon as the he finished the first line of "O! say can you see?" He stopped singing and held the mic up while the crowd, unphased, continued for the remainder of the anthem. It was truly one of the most remarkable things I have ever seen and heard when it comes to the singing or playing of any national anthem. The only thing that would have made it better, for me at least, is if the crowd had not substituted Blues for Brave like they always do.

I once asked my dad what the best version of the anthem he had ever heard done was and he responded that when he was younger, he heard James Earl Jones read the poem the lent its words to the Star-Spangled Banner. I would like to think that this would have been close to that.

I hope someone somewhere has a recording as it was the most moving thing I've heard, having nearly twenty thousand people singing the national anthem. This to me, was the perfect way of presenting the anthem. Perhaps, I was a little extra swayed by this as moments before there was a moment of silence for a young soldier in Afghanistan who lost his life this week who was apparently an avid Blues fan who would attend any game he could during leave. This moment was also remarkable as there was nothing to be heard except for a slight cough from someone near the end.

So all we have to do is win tonight. Then if we can get San Josey, Cal and Gary to loose tonight we've got our (and the first of the NHL's) ticket to the final dance. So that means we would need to cheer for the guys from Phoenix and the Pekka heads from south of here, aka Nashville.

You dirty rat bastards rooting FOR the Chickenhawks and Deadwings, how can you call your selfs blues fans if your rooting for either one of these teams. Now now, dont go all, "We need them to win these games to help us into the play offs" crap. Yes that is true, but as a fan of the 'note you should be rooting against the teams we need to loose.

Yes its a fine line of semantics, but its the principle of it. You just cant root for either of our arch nemisis.
