I was tired of looking for some Texas shoes. I wanted some kickass UT shoes but no one sold anything decent. I found out about Nike ID, where you can make your own pair. I think these are pretty sick, even has "Texas" embroidered on the hell.

Greetings BONers,

I'm a lifelong UT fan but through my parents insane decision decided to raise me and my sister in Tennessee. My mother is from Austin and my dad attended UT back when dirt was invented. My only claim to fame is that I was procreated in Austin. Being raised 90 miles south of the other "UT" has been awful. Regardless, I've been a faithful fan since I was a young little tyke. Given that our family trips were only once or twice a year, attending home games was few and far between. Anytime the Horns are close, I got to see them play ('96 at UVa, '02 at UNC, etc). I was even lucky enough to get tickets and see the NC game in Pasadena (best game of my life. Period). But my last home game was in '92 vs. A&M. I've been pining to get back to Austin and a game, but this that and the other always comes up......until now.

I've managed to get tickets to the Tech game on 9/19. I can't tell you how freaking stoked I am. The wife has a friend whose husband was on the team back in the 90's and apparently this guy has some really decent tix. He even mentioned taking us to the T room (anyone with any idea what this is?).

In addition to loading up an extra empty suitcase with all sorts of UT apparel, I want to take it all in. Suggestions? Places to eat, things to see, things to do on campus, etc. I'd love any and all suggestions.

Mad props to PB and the other contributors for keeping this East coast fan up to date with everything. I'd be up sh**creek without this site.

Thanks, Mike

"In the East, college football is a cultural exercise.
On the West Coast, it is a tourist attraction.
In the Midwest, it is cannibalism.
