2nd in the NFL in Fumbles Forced

1

Who knew? Our defense is tied for second overall in the NFL with 7 forced fumbles through the first half of the season.

Congrats on the win, Raiders Nation

Congrats on a tough, ugly, hard-fought and well-deserved win, Raiders fans. You punched us in the chin this weekend. We'll return the favor later on at Arrowhead. As much as I loathe the...

The (un)Official Ron Edwards Appreciation Post

Last year, all the talk about the Chiefs' D Line was far from positive. Dorsey and Jackson were being prematurely labeled as busts. The NT position looked like a sieve. Things weren't pretty. But...

So I cave in (yeah, peer pressure) and try the Madden NFL Superstars game on Facebook at the prompting of a couple of friends. The very first player I draw (note: I haven't even seen any of the others yet - I had to let this out before continuing) is none other than our very own....

Third Down Conversions - Our Weakest Link

Looking over here at nfl.com's post game stat analysis - the Chiefs actually averaged 0.1 yard more per offensive play than the Colts today. Colts = 4.5 yards / offensive play Chiefs = 4.6 yards...

NFL.com video replay of Hart's TD run

3

Pause the replay at 0:32 / 0:36 (just before the end of the clip) There are two holds happening here, pretty good ones too. Arenas is getting held in the front of this clip, and in the background DJ is pretty much in a choke hold. Both guys are closest to the play, and both guys were in position to stop this run for about a 3 yard gain if they weren't held. Yeah we didn't help ourselves out today by failing to capitalize on some opportunities. But the officiating was definitely home-team-friendly. (Don't get me started on the pass interference call and the Clark catch on the sidelines shortly before that, that was incomplete / out of bounds (but given to the Colts). Again, not blaming the loss on the officiating. But holy cow did it help the Colts out todtay.

Is there any status on WR Josh Morgan?

No one among us Chiefs fans are happy about what happened with that play - TD be damned, we're all just sorry that your young talented WR got hurt. Most of the news at Arrowhead Pride is just...

A trick play in week 3 can help our running game in week 5

I loved the fake reverse / flea flicker play in our SF game this week. The TD was nice, but the main reason I was excited to see it pay off is for our upcoming game against the Colts. Indianapolis...

Jamaal Charles wasn't "The Man" Against Cleveland

I know I’m going to be burned at the stake for this. But here goes. If you head over to nfl.com you can get a play by play summary in pdf format here. Looking at the stats for Charles, he had 11...

They have got to call some of these holds

Just watched the long TD to Naanee again on Sportscenter - couldn't tell at full speed who it was, but one of our D Line was literally in a sleeper hold / choke hold trying to rush. Some of that...

Dorsey looks like an animal tonight

Not sure if you guys at Arrowhead can tell the minutia of it all through the rain - but Dorsey is playing like he means it tonight. The guy looks like a freakin' animal out there!

Is Cassel Getting to Audible in the Pre-Season Games?

Haven't been watching for this, honestly. And I'd like some input from the AP faithful. Are the vast majority of our offensive play calls being scripted so far, or are they giving Matt some leeway...

Diagnosing Cassel's INT

I don't have DVR so I can't really go back and re-watch the game. At first I was of the mindset that Cassel just threw that pass behind Moeaki and it was bad play on Cassel's part. But someone...

Jeremy Horne: The Deep Threat We've Been Missing?

Maybe I'm jumping the gun a little here. But there's been a lot of discussion lately about how we need to heave the deep ball a few times per game just to keep the defenses honest. And really, a...

Chiefs fans in Nashville?

So are there any Chiefs faithful around the Nashville area? Looking at maybe catching the game tonight out around Smyrna. Probably the only one here in Titansland, I know. But it's worth a shot!

Twitter says that the account linked on the front page of AP for Dwayne Bowe doesn't exist. Does anyone know if he's changed his account? I'm seeing a "Dbowe80" and a "DwayneBowe" when I search. Are either of these legit?

Does anyone know a reliable place to find game film after the game is played? Wife and I don't really have the funds for a DVR right now (just had to cut back to the most basic cable package too). But it'd be great to go back after the fact and really focus on each play with the trenches, the secondary play away from the ball, etc. So does anyone know any good legit sources to find this kind of thing?

Could the HB screen pass be a secret weapon in the upcoming season? With the addition of Run DMC (read: the new OW) plus JC's already present speed and dangerous presence in the open field - the possibility of running HB screen plays to slow down aggressive blitzing from opposing defenses in 2010 is looking pretty viable. Last season teams aggressively blitzed us, causing all kinds of nasty disruptions in the backfield, TFL's, QB Hurries and sacks. Combine that with an offense that was adjusting to having the head coach take over as the OC at the last minute and WR roulette along with a porous offensive line, and we were pretty well doomed. Now with the O Line shoring up, and the explosive open field play making abilities of Dex and Jamaal, I think the threat of the HB screen will force opposing defenses to dial down the aggression just a bit, or potentially suffer some catastrophic consequences. Woe to the safety who is the last man between Dex / JC and the goal line because the Defensive Coordinator dialed in too heavy of a blitz package, freeing up either of these two guys to bust one off outside of a screen. Thoughts? Dissenting opinions?

Not Chiefs related, but I'm sure most of us have good memories of this guy. Especially the 30+ AP'er crowd.
