After reading some comments on threads today and in the past few weeks I am going to try to help save Seth some time and give detailed instructions for those of you who want to post pics/videos but don't know how to do it correctly. This will also include how to make sure the image is sized properly.

First, do yourself a favor and create an account on photobucket.com so you don't make the mistake I've made with hot linking (The title of this post has the URL for photo bucket). You will store all your images/videos in your photo bucket account and will use that account to paste links to your images/videos here on DTN. It's free and easy to create this account...took me about 5 minutes.

Second, locate whatever pic/video you want on the internet (For example you can google "Funny wipeouts .gif" for videos as that is one of the file extensions used for videos and then click "images" on the left side of the screen after google returns it's find). After finding the right pic/video for your posting pleasure right click and copy image address.

Third, open a second tab in your browser and login to your photo bucket account. Click the green "upload" tab. There is a grey drop down box next to the words "Upload From" that you need to click. This drops down 5 or 6 options of what type of file you are uploading. Choose "The Web".

Fourth, after choosing "The Web" from the drop down box two fields will appear with the words "Paste URL to a photo" in italics in the field. Click the top field to activate the cursor in that field. After seeing your cursor in that field right click and paste the copied image address from your chosen pic/video. After pasting the address click the big green "Start Uploading" button. When your upload is completed click on "View Album" to open up your "album" that was created with your account creation.

Fifth, once you're in the album page locate the pic/video you want to post on DTN and place your mouse over the pic/video. Leave your mouse still over the image and a drop down box will appear with four fields titled "Email & IM", "Direct Link", "HTML Code", and "IMG Code". I prefer to use the "Direct Link" address that is created. I use a mac so I'm not sure how the PC will work in this step but when I hold my mouse over the object I want to post on DTN and click the address in the "Direct Link" field it automatically copies that address for me and a message blinks in the field that says "copied" in italics. You're ready to post on DTN now.

Sixth, click on the original tab in your browser with the DTN thread of choice opened up that you want to post the pic/video on. Hit "reply" to the message you want to post to or use the new post box at the bottom to post the pic. Insert a title in the subject line but don't paste the image address in the subject line. After creating a title in the subject line click the message box to activate that box. When you see your cursor blinking in the message box it's time to paste the image address. This is where it can get tricky with the sizing so I'll do my best to not make this gibberish. Please see below for the exact symbols/spacing/wording that has to be followed to be successful:

Like this...img height="300" src="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j391/ttu04/1307a459.gif"...but be sure to use the "<" symbol directly in front of "img" and the ">" directly after ".gif" or it won't post correctly.

After typing the code above click "Preview" and see if your image appears. If your image appears like you want it to then click "Post" and you're finished. If you click "Preview" and your image is still really big or it's really small you can change the "300" to "200" for a smaller image or "400" for a larger image. Make the changes needed and click "Preview" again for as many times as you need to until you get the right fit. If you click "Preview" and all you see is the code that you typed like what I typed up above then you need to see if your symbols or spacing is off. One inverted < or > or no " before/after the image address then your image/video won't post. Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask any questions below and I'll try to answer as much as I can.

Enjoy!!

After you click the link scroll to the bottom of the article and click the green play button icon. Very interesting interview about how Brandon was recruited to Tech and good conversation about his time at Tech including the infamous Houston post game outburst and much more. Hope you enjoy and hat tip to Red50cal. for the link.

Double-T Nation Very Long Attempt to Shine Some Light On the Current State

First off, I have been a member of DTN since 08 and I post frequently on threads but have never posted one of my own so bear with me as I part with my FanPost “V” card.  This is my attempt to explain where I think many of us who are upset with Tubs are coming from.  This is obviously only from one perspective but I have tried to incorporate the sentiments of other posts and comments I’ve read throughout the years.

1) Anti-Tubs sentiment must mean we think Leach is coming back.

Let me start out by first saying that this line of thinking to me is on the same level elementary girls must use when they are trying to justify to themselves why a boy they like doesn’t like them.  I mean seriously?  Do you really think any of us honestly believe Leach is going to come back?  I think it’s fair to say that even if our entire admin was kicked to the curb Texas Tech isn’t even on Leach’s list of places he would enjoy coaching.  I think it’s fair to say our esteemed leadership (cough, cough) has done as good a job as any I have ever seen at alienating a person from their prior place of employment and that is saying something.  I work for a hospital management company.  We get called in when the leadership at a hospital is lacking and we are asked to pick up the pieces and make humpty dumpty smile and be happy again.  Not an easy task but it has put me in numerous situations where I see the signs of poor leadership or the lack of any leadership in an organization.  The way the current administration handled the Leach firing was hands down the poorest most unprofessional example I have seen to date.  Please do us all a favor and stop making snide stupid comments that would lead the readers to think you actually think we believe he may be coming back.  You aren’t helping your cause.

2) Nancy James is an innocent victim and we are all acting like third graders picking teams for red rover.

To this sentiment I say get over yourselves.  In defense of people like me and numerous others that are members of DTN this seems a bit trivial and it feels like this is the best response any of you have to validate dodging any sort of responsibility being taken by him and his father.  Trust me when I say I don’t walk around everyday looking for a reason to pick on a college kid who is still growing up (I use the term growing up loosely).  Right or wrong he made the decision to take the action he took.  His decisions took the entire University to a level nobody could ever even fathom prior to that disastrous day in late 2009.  He chose to call his father and spark the storm that occurred.  He had his father call Leach and other coaches to complain about his playing time (reference emails sent from coaches after Leach was fired).  He made the decision to alienate certain teammates who were giving their all for the team to win regardless of their own personal successes or gains.  How can you blame his teammates for not liking the guy?  Have you ever worked alongside dead weight?  It’s not fun.  This becomes much worse when the dead weight wants to be first in line for the promotion and bonus at the certain time of year without performing and having anything to show for it (reference Graham Harrell’s and other players/coaches emails after Leach was fired).  He was going to get playing time come hell or high water regardless of what damage he did to any of his teammates or coaches who got in his way.  For that I say he deserves every bit of the response he has received from our fan base and his old teammates.  I’m glad he has turned the page according to second and third hand reports that have been posted on this site.  I don’t know him personally so I can’t speak to that.  What I can speak to is the communication that was released via FOIA that forms my own opinions about the situation and I don’t need anybody else to help me form that opinion.  Go spin your madness elsewhere or just accept that many of us will agree to disagree about that but we are all still Red Raiders wanting the same thing.

Much much more after the jump...
