What Up Yinz? My wife is doing her internship at Hunter College in NY's Upper East Side and I am looking for Steelers Bars in the nearby area (Manhattan). I am a cook so am looking for work AND play. I'm checking Craig's List as well as other Steelers Bars related websites to gather as much information as I can. We plan to visit over the Memorial Day Weekend to suss out the neighborhood where the school is located, businesses, apartments etceteras.

Draft day is around the corner, beginning Thursday April 28 2011.  The NFL has turned the first picks into a primetime spectacle and will start the non-stop combine coverage any day now.

These are mostly customized, all hand-painted and decaled.  Cowher is a sculpt: chin, hair.  These fall under the size requirement of Electric Football, were in fact painted for an active participant in the hobby to use during his next 'season'.

I am also working on a 70s era STEELERS squad using a Warhammer-style dry-brush/ink wash technique.  I will post pictures of them upon completion.

Figure displays are a great way to showcase autographs.  Either by getting a 3.75" x 3.75" matte board autographed, or by applying a signed trading card, they fit perfectly in softball display cases.

I'm such a nerd...

The Greatest Hobby is alive and well. Miniature Football Coaches Association. Here is a sweet article written by local sports writer Joe Starkey for TribLive Sports which I am featured in. Along with the Pittsburgh Electric Football League we have worked the Steelers annual FanBLITZ at Heinz Field. FanBLITZ 2010 information.   

Anyone who would like to see the game played as it is now, how it has advanced from 'little plastic men running in a circle' drop me a line. As big of a football city as Pittsburgh it has very little EF interest. There are hub cities across the US with leagues 32 Coaches deep: Philly, Detroit, Virginia, L.A. 

Dig how this unique hobby has evolved!

During the preseason this cat made numerous game-changing plays, he impressed the coaches in off season practice, even Tomlin took to calling him 'Big Play Willie Gay'.  As a starter he failed, epic.  He was targeted 69% by quarterbacks last year, and it seemed like he was always on the ground, one memorable grounding was after Adrian Peterson wiped his cleats on Willie's #22.  Does anybody remember his draft stock?  How did the draft-gurus break him down?  Did he fail to meet expectations, is he who we thought he was?  I defended him a lot last season, now I feel compelled to eat a little crow.  What are your thoughts?

His blog certainly indicates so.  I thought it was a hoax until I received confirmation that it is in fact real.  For those who have not had the opportunity to do so click here.  I'm sure there are some here who will commend his candor but I personally think that he threw any legitimate journalism credentials out the window.  To me this thing reads like the ravings of a maniac.  When did John Steigerwald turn into Morton Downey Jr?
