Pac-10 Prediction Results
The Impact accepts your thanks for creating a scoring system for how accurate your Pac-10 predictions were, and for compiling the results. The Impact is in no way admitting that he's bored as hell.
Scoring:
9 points for nailing the positon exactly, 8 points for being one position away, and down to 0 points if you picked the Ducks to finish last or WSU to finish first. Also, if you picked the Ducks to finish last or WSU to finish first, you're an idiot. Double points awarded to your pick of the Ducks because this is a Ducks blog.

Rest of the Flock: It's Not January 1st Just Yet
It's a slow weekend for Duck sport this weekend, the only event is Men's Hoops taking on Saint Mary's on Saturday afternoon at 1. But since I was in a euphoic stupor all last week and have no idea where I was from Wednesday night until about Saturday, I wasn't able to get you all your Duck athletics fix. So it's two weeks of hot linky action after the jump!

Tako Tuesdays: Let's Be Honest With Ourselves Here...
...but I'm in no position to talk about football this week. Nothing has changed between Thursday and today that needs to be said, other than I'm disappointed that Ethan Grant switched allegiances. We're in the Rose Bowl, and we're allowed to stay up on this high horse for a few more days before it's back to work as usual. There are more pressing matters at hand. After multiple conversations with Jared, there is only one thing I can write about this week:

16 Team Hypothetical Playoff - I Like Our Chances
First round at home against Iowa, with Texas in the second round? I think we have a great shot at the championship game here.

BCS Selection Day/ Bowl Chatter Open Thread
In case anyone else is home and glued to the TV today, friggin' chat about it! Plus, we can giggle about this:
SAN FRANCISCO -- Southern California will face Boston College in the Emerald Bowl.
The bowl announced that the Trojans (8-4) will play the Eagles (8-4) on Dec. 26 at AT&T Park in San Francisco. This marks the first time USC has played in the bowl. The Trojans had played in a BCS game the past seven years.
Boston College is making its 11th straight bowl appearance. The Eagles are the first team to play in the Emerald Bowl twice, beating Colorado State 35-21 in 2003. Boston College is 8-1 in bowl games this decade.
The Trojans dropped three of their last five games, including Saturday's 21-17 loss to Arizona. USC dropped out of the AP Top 25 for the first time in eight years after the loss to Wildcats.
Hee hee hee....fantastic. Also, Stanford has accepted an invite to the Sun Bowl to play Oklahoma. Should be fun to watch Touchdown Toby run all over another Big Choke Bob.

Civil War 2009: Pics Cuz It Happened
Um, wow. I skipped much of the way home from Autzen, because it just felt like the right thing to do. But all in all I had a wonderful evening. And here's how it went:

Tako Tuesdays: Ghostwriters
Look. I'm sorry. I know it's Civil War week. The Rose Bowl is on the line. Everyone - the players, the coaches, the bloggers - need to be on their A game to give the Ducks the best chance at winning. But I just couldn't handle the pressure. Since last week, I've been staring at my computer, trying to come up with the perfect Civil War Tako Tuesday. Boom. Writer's block. It's incredibly embarrassing, and I just want to drive my car into a fire hydrant and a tree. But I just couldn't deliver this week. So I had to turn this section over to someone else. But who? I couldn't just decide on one person, so I thought it would be best if I let the best and the brightest minds around throw their two cents in.

The women's basketball World Vision Classic is this weekend at Mac Court, featuring Portland State, Wisconsin, and CSU-Fullerton The Ducks play tonight at 7:30 against Wisconsin. For those of you in Seattle, you can cheer on the Ducks in their women's volleyball finale at U Dub, start time 7 PM.
It's a basketball double header Saturday, with the women taking on Wisconsin at 4:30, and the men facing Montana at 7:30.
On Sunday, the NCAA women's volleyball tourney selection show will be broadcast at noon on ESPNews. The World Vision Invitational concludes Sunday with the women playing PSU at 2:30. Tako Tuesdays: It's the Mooooost Wonderful Tiiiiiime of the Year!
First off, an apology for not getting this up until 11 AM, and for being a relative ghost around the blog this weekend. You'd think I'd get to relax on vacation. Not the case.
