BOSTON — Maybe it wasn't really just the American League East’s bad dream.

Maybe opening day's domination of the Tampa Bay Rays by Josh Beckett wasn't the end of the defending AL champions. On Wednesday, the cosmos again seemed out of sorts in dumpy Fenway Park, where the ill-informed and often obnoxious fans had to watch the Red Sox get dismissed by the Rays, 7-2, to effectively land a powerful counter-punch in the division race. What's worse is that Scott Kazmir looked good enough to crack the rotation of our beloved Sox, Carlos Pena no longer seems destined to strike out 600 times in the season, and that desperate housewife at 3rd (I can never remember her name because she doesn't play in Boston) shook off a couple double-plays to hit a ball into the historic seats of ol' Fenway.

I guess the baseball world just isn't ready to go back to how it should be, where all anyone is interested in is the hated Yankees and our underdog, tiny payroll, loveable Pink Sox.

Come on folks - save me from eating all my ticket costs, or just enjoy the game on me.

Who wants two SRO tickets to the last weekend spring training game in Port Charlotte? I can't go.

They cost me $24 after ticketmaster, but just make me an offer. I could mail them today (maybe they'll make it), or meet you somewhere around Tampa/Clearwater/St Pete Friday or early Saturday.

I tried the fan shot route, but didn't get any reply, so now I'm rambling here.

Fantasy Baseball sites?

All,

I'm looking for opinions on fantasy sites. My friends and I like playing a point-based game (not rottessiere) where you get points for basically everything good...and lose them for bad things.

In the past, we used Sandbox.com - but the website seemed really old, and the price has gotten expensive ($40/person for a league)

Last year, we tried sportsline.com - and they let us customize everything, and had tons of data...however, nothing could really be tailored to how we used it. Information overload.

What other sites have people used - and enjoy?

thanks

Playoff Roster?

Gotta get the roster back down to 25....who do you go with?

Gotta get the roster back down to 25....who do you go with?

Definites (19)---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shields, Kaz, Garza, Sonny - starting staff

Balfour (R), Howell (L), Percival (R), Wheeler(R), Bradford(R) - RPs

C - Navarro & someone...probably Hernandez.

IF - Pena, Aki, Bartlett, Longoria

OF - Gross, Hinske, Upton

DH - Floyd

My guess on the other 6------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RP - we need another lefty, Miller has experience and has pitched well lately. He's in.

IF - Aybar & Zobrist (he's on fire, and can play OF)

OF/DH - Rocco, Perez, Crawford (if he's healthy, if not we go with pitcher #11....David Price)

This could leave both Price & E-Jax off the roster....but would anyone have any confidence in Jackson coming out of the pen? I feel bad for him, but what purpose would he really serve right now? The only question I'd have is when we called up Perez...if he's not eligible than CC is definitely in, and we go with 11 pitchers.
