Who will prove to be the Heat's biggest threat in the East?

At 6-2 heading in to their game in LA against the Clippers and fresh off Lebron dropping 32 in the second half to steal a win from the Rockets, the Heat are looking strong. They seem like they are set to cruise through the regular season and enter the playoffs as the number one seed. Can anyone in the East challenge them? And if so, does it even matter?

The Heat's main focus should be on being healthy for the playoffs. I can see the Celtics possibly challenging them for the #1 seed but not likely. Also, with D Rose out I don't see any other team in the East realistically threatening the Heat at all. The biggest challenges come from the West with the Spurs, Thunder and maybe the Clippers and if the Lakers ever get their circus together then maybe them too.

So does any game matter until June for the Heat?

Ray Allen looked like the perfect fit against the Boston in the opener. I'm wondering how long it will be until Rashard Lewis starts to contribute. If he can manage to get some productive minutes the Heat will open up the floor even more and let Wade and Lebron dish and drive all day. My only concern is that we don't have a solid Center. Do we even need one? Will our team of three point shooters and the big three be good enough to not have problems against teams with a true center like the pacers or sixers? Just curious on your thoughts.

What are you doing for the season opener tonight?

What is everyone doing for the game tonight other than watching how the Celtics respond to playing against Ray Allen? I can't wait for that. I hope he hits a couple of big threes or goes on a hot streak. And if they could shut down Jason Terry in the process that would be icing on the cake.

I'm stuck out in LA but will be watching every Heat game that I can this season.

Rest wade?

Should the Heat cut down Wade's minutes in order to keep him fresh for the playoffs? I think that they should because over the past few years he has been struggling to stay on the court and he is coming off of knee surgery from this off-season. Don't worry so much about getting the #1 seed(even though we probably still can with reduced wade minutes), just get a high seed and enter the playoffs with a fully healthy Wade.
