Flying Under the Radar - Derek Joslin

There has been a good amount of discussion has gone about the emergence of Jason Demers and Kent Huskins as a very solid third lining d-man pairing, who are also giving the Sharks good PP mins -...

WTC: Seto and Vesce out tonight with bumps, McGinn and Logan Couture called up

Can't believe we're finally seeing the NHL debut of Logan Couture tonight - very exciting. I hope McGinn and Couture skate together, they've had some nice success and Worcester and we're dominating teammates with the Ottawa 67s.

AHL.com article on Sharks' goaltending prospect Alex Stalock

After the first few games of his professional career, Stalock is starting to earn favorable comparisons from Sharks' goaltending coach Corey Schwab.

WTC: Zalewski called up, more from Murray Heatley

Steven Zalewski has been recalled for Worcester and scheduled to make his NHL debut tonight skating on the 4th line with Malhotra and Shelley - Staubitz goes back to being a healthy scratch. DP's post also includes more from his interview with Murray Heatley, father of, you guessed it, Dany Heatley. I've always had a soft spot for Zalewski so I'm thrilled to see him get a call-up. He's not gonna wow anyone with dynamic skills or physical abilities, but like a lot of under-sized Sharks, he plays with a ton of heart. I like him also because he can penalty kill, something most Sharks 4th-liners tend not to be able to do.

WTC: Pavelski out at least a couple weeks with left leg injury

Read his blog for the details you cheap bastards! Unfortunately he got clipped by a Getzlaf pp shot in the 1st but he did manage to play the rest of the game.

Frazer McLaren up, Jamie McGinn down

After just one game, Jamie McGinn has surprisingly been re-assigned to Worcester, while Frazer McLaren has been recalled and is expected to make his NHL debut Saturday against Anaheim.

Roster finalized - Demers and Ferriero make the cut and debut tonight

It was pretty much spelled out by DP yesterday, but the Sharks site officially announced Demers and Ferriero making the cut while McLaren, Joslin and Moore go down.

Boo this man!

I swear to god that if the Sharks even consider speaking to him I will pitchfork it up around HP Pavilion all season.

Interesting observation

You can take this how you like but today my season tickets arrived today.  As usual the tickets' graphics rotate through 8 of the Sharks players - the best and/or most popular ones - and this...

Sharks name Matt Shaw as assistant coach

San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson and Head Coach Todd McLellan announced today that Matt Shaw will serve as an assistant coach on McLellan’s staff, joining Trent Yawney and Jay Woodcroft. Shaw spent the past two seasons (2007-2009) with the Minnesota Wild on former head coach Jacques Lemaire’s staff. He served as assistant coach for the 2008-09 season after spending the 2007-08 season as the team’s video coach. Shaw’s duties with the Wild included video responsibilities, pre-scouting opposing teams and in-game analysis and adjustments.

Sharks re-sign Ryan Vesce plus sign four others

San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed Group III unrestricted free agent forward Ryan Vesce to a one-year contract and signed defenseman Joe Callahan and Danny Groulx, center Dwight Helminen and right wing Jed Ortmeyer to one-year contracts. Per club policy, financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

David Pollak claims Scott Nichol to become Sharks' 4th-line center

Sometimes you find the information, sometimes the information finds you. That fourth line center the Sharks are about to sign? Scott Nichol. This comes from nobody directly connected with the...

Marleau for Heatley?

Word is that Dany Heatley wants out of Ottawa.  So, immediately I thought about a Marleau for Heatley swap.  Yes, this may be a pie-in-the-sky dream, but I think it's worth taking a look at.  I'm...

Worcester Sharks attemping to win their first round series tonight

While one set of Sharks have their backs against the wall tonight in an elimination game, another set looks to finish the Hartford Wolf Pack (New York Rangers affiliate) tonight in Game 6 of their...
