RPiA - Spring Training Interviews
Good news everyone. I've conducted a series of interviews with people covering the Rangers and compiled them all into bite-sized pieces for your listening enjoyment.
All the interviews are available on iTunes or the links below on DallasSportsNetwork.tv:
Jason Parks - Baseball Prospectus
Kevin Goldstein - Baseball Prospectus
Jamey Newberg - The Newberg Report
Scott Lucas - The Newberg Report
Will Carroll - Sports Illustrated
DSN.tv - FanFest Sound Bites
Good news everyone! I've put together a string of soundbites from today's Rangers media event in preparation for this weekend's Fan Fest. There are bites from Hamilton, Rhodes, Greenberg and Daniels.
You can find the bite-sized goodness here.
I love Hamilton's sentiment at the start as well as the determination from both Greenberg and Daniels to not make last year a "one-and-done" scenario at the end.
Please enjoy. And if you are planning to go to Fan Fest, you'll have a good time. The set-up is really nice. I miss not having it at the Ballpark, but I won't miss the frigid temperatures waiting to get inside or in line for autographs.
DSN.tv-Rangers Ballpark Video Board Coming Down
Good news everyone. The old, out-dated video board above the right-field porch is coming down to make way for a state-of-the-art, HD screen. They're also removing the "amber-vision" screen in center and replacing that, too.
Here is some video I shot of the old one coming down. They should start installing the new one next month and have everything in place in time for opening day.
Lots of changes coming to the ballpark this season. This is obviously the most high-profile, but there are lots of touch-ups planned to get the place worthy of a pennant champion.
Rangers Front Office Press Conference
Good news everyone! I've edited the comments from Nolan Ryan, Jon Daniels and Ron Washington from their end of season press conference on Wednesday, October 3. Nothing too earth-shattering here, but it is interesting to hear them talk about going from building mode to maintaining and improving mode.
You can watch the Nolan Ryan highlights here.
You can watch the Jon Daniels highlights here.
And you can watch the Ron Washington highlights here.
It still blows my mind that this press conference took place on November 3. Not October 3. November.
Enjoy.
Rangers Netcast LIVE 8/10 @ 5:00 CDT
Well hello there. Time again for another live netcast about your Texas Rangers. Gonna try something a little different in terms of schedule: rather than the one hour before game time broadcast, we're going to do them every Tuesday at 5:00PM Dallas time (unless otherwise noted). I hope having the show on at the same time every week will help grow the audience a little rather than making them try to hit a moving target week after week.
Anywho, Sean Bass and I will be looking at the upcoming Yankee and Red Sox series, put a bow on ownership talk and dissect the team's hitting issues. All that and more at Dallas Sports Network.tv.
RPiA - Chuck Greenberg Interview
Howdy. Don't know if you've heard, the Texas Rangers were sold recently. In an auction of all things. I know, wild!
Seriously, though, Chuck Greenberg was kind enough to set aside a few minutes to talk about the process he and his partners just went though. what kind of owner he will be and what his priorities are for fans and the club.
So, head on over to iTunes or Dallas Sports Network.tv and check it out. SPOILER ALERT: he's pretty cool.

DSN.tv - Nolan Ryan Press Conference
Hey everyone. Here are some highlights from Nolan's press conference on Thursday. It was originally about 25 minutes long, but I cut it down to around 12. He covers just about everything: ballpark improvement, payroll, his new roll with the team, priorities for the offseason and his relationship now with Mark Cuban. You can tell throughout that he was exhausted but also relieved and happy.
The video is up on the Dallas Sports Network.tv site. So, head over there, watch the video and get excited all over again.
RPiA - Maury Brown Interview
Hey Gang. Adam and I talked with Maury Brown of BizofBaseball.com earlier today about the ownership auction. And would you look at that! I just happened to record that and put it out there for everyone to enjoy!
You can find it at the usual places: iTunes or the blog.
Brown talks about the process in a little more detail, speculates why Cuban became aggressively involved when he did and guesses what kind of long-term impact this whole procedure may have on future ownership transactions - not just in baseball, but in all of professional sports.
As always, thanks for listening.
Rangers Netcast LIVE 8/4 @ 8:00
We interrupt today's court proceedings to let you know that Sean Bass and I will take to the "air" waves again tonight before the Mariners game - 8:00 to be exact. (call it Rangers Netcast After Dark). Sure there'll be the same, tired-head conversations about the ownership issues, but we'll also tackle some easier problems like...... how to fix the offensive woes.
So head on over to the site at 8:00 for some juicy, Ranger goodness.
Oh, there's also a new interview with RoughRiders manager Steve Buechele there talking about his team's roster following all the trades and how he's managed his way through it.
New Rangers Podcast in Arlington Available
Howdy! It's time again for The Newberg, Von Marriagesmasher and me to talk about our little team that "no one cares about." This week we are joined by Richard Durrett of ESPNDallas.com to talk about the trade activity and what it means in the short and long term for the team. We also do a little ownership talk (ugh!) and how this team is starting now to set itself up for an October run.
As always, you can catch us on iTunes and the new Dallas Sports Network site.
Thanks for listening, I really do appreciate it.

Rangers Netcast 7/27 LIVE @ 6:00
Well hello there. Didn't see you come in. Please have a seat and be sure to watch Sean Bass and myself Tuesday night at 6:00 Dallas time on the Texas Rangers Pre-Game Netcast. We'll be talking about the 3-1 series win over the Angels, preview the upcoming A's series and look ahead to the Angels again this weekend. Plus all the usual shenanigans that come around when doing live TV.
You can catch all the festivities at the new and "improved" Web site:
dallassportsnetwork.tv
Rangers Pre-Game Netcast LIVE 7/20 @ 5:00PM
Well hello there. The hits just keep on coming-let us add to them. The Ticket's own Sean Bass and your truly will be taking to the "net" waves again this evening to preview tonight's tilt against DET. As well as the occasional looking back and looking ahead mixed in for good measure.
So mosey on over to the new and improved (well, new at least) site at 5:00. We'll take you to 5:30 in time to catch the other pre-game then on to the game itself at 6:00.
http://dallassportsnetwork.tv/live/
Rangers Netcast 7/14 LIVE @ 7:00
Hey Kids - day after All-Star Game got you down? Never fear! We are your double rainbow in an otherwise murky sky. Sean Bass and I will be taking to the "air" waves tonight to talk a little Ranger baseball and look ahead to the second part of the season.
So, join us at 7:00 Dallas time Wednesday night at: dallassportsnetwork.tv
Might not be as glamourous as the ESPYS, but definitely a lot less pretentious!
Pre-Game Netcast Live Tonight @ 5:45
Hey everyone - Sean Bass and I are back tonight for another Rangers pre-game netcast tonight (Tuesday) at 5:45 PM (a little earlier than usual so Sean can get over to the Ballpark for Diamond Talk after the game).
Still working on some of the technical issues that plagued us last week. I think we got most of them ironed out, but you never know until you're actually doing it.
So, if you're near your computer, come on by and check us out at: dallassportsnetwork.tv
Dallas Sports Network - BETA
Hey LSB'ers - the next piece in my mini-media empire goes live tonight with the soft launch of Dallas Sports Network.tv. I'm planning a series of podcasts, vid-casts and live streaming shows all centered around Dallas-area sports (thus the name).
It all starts with a Rangers pre-game show I'm doing with Sean Bass from The Ticket's "Diamond Talk." tonight (Thursday) at 6:00. We still have a lot of work to do, but I wanted to start streaming the show live and get some feedback.
So, if you happen to be around your computer at 6:00 CDT, check us out at: http://dallassportsnetwork.tv/

New Rangers Podcast in Arlington Up
Hey everyone. I know you've been on pens and needles about this. Well, the wait is over! The latest Rangers Podcast in Arlington is up and available on iTunes and on the blog.
Jamey Newberg returns from his rehab assignment to talk about Rich Harden's pain in the #@&, Adam chimes in with where Harden ranks among the all-time D/FW sports flops and everyone is excited about the recent resurgence of Borbon and Hamilton.
So, tune in to hear what everyone will be talking about tomorrow (or later today)!
New Rangers Podcast in Arlington Up
Hey guys - Adam is doing his real job (whatever that means), so he asked me to post the alert that the latest RPiA is up and available on iTunes and the blog. Unfortunately, Jamey Newberg could not join us for this episode, but Adam and I are joined by Bob Sturm of 1310 The Ticket.
In this episode, we talk about the sale saga, Holland 2.0 and a once-in-a-lifetime Adam rant on Face of the Franchise Michael Young. Not to be missed.
Ian Kinsler Interview-Frisco Rehab
A very quick interview with Ian Kinsler before his first rehab game with the Frisco RoughRiders Monday night. Kinsler expects to be back in time to start the road trip at the end of the week.
Also, please enjoy the dulcet tones of Janet (Ms Jackson if you're nasty) blaring on the stadium's PA system. I found it a little humorous that the song playing was "What Have You Done For Me Lately?"
RoughRiders RHP Tanner Scheppers
This is a quick interview I did with RHP Tanner Scheppers at last week's RoughRiders media day. Believe it or not, the 2009 supplemental first round pick does not like the moniker: "Ticking Time Bomb."
I agree with most of the experts that we will see Scheppers in Arlington real soon. Especially if he can keep up the show he was putting on in Spring Training... which was in Surprise, AZ... which gets me to 75 words.

RoughRiders RHP Blake Beavan
Tonight is the Frisco RoughRiders Opening Night game, and former first-round pick Blake Beavan gets the start. Here, Beavan talks about what he has learned during his time in the minors, how his velocity has improved over the summer and what his own expectations are for the season and for himself.
Special thanks to Aaron Goldsmith of the RoughRiders for putting together the team's media day and making the players available for interviews.
RoughRiders Manager Steve Buechele
In recognition of Frisco's Opening Day, here is a short interview I did with new manager - and perennial fan favorite - Steve Buechele during the RoughRiders Media Day.
Here, Boooooooo talks about his expectations for the 2010 season, his philosophy as a manager and his moving from the California League to the Texas League.
I have a few more interviews with opening day starter Blake Beavan, spring training phenom Tanner Scheppers and former first round pick Kasey Kiker. I'll be posting those later.
RPiA in Surprise - LAST DAY
OK - well the week hasn't gone quite as smoothly as I would have hoped, but hey, trying something new and learning along the way. The last Web cast will take place today (Friday) at 1:00 Dallas time at the usual location:
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/rangers-podcast-in-arlington
Thanks to everyone who has watched all week and put up with some of the nonsense. I hope what did work was at least somewhat enjoyable.
RPiA in Surprise - Day 4
OK - we're going to try this again. Barring any breaking news from the team, we will be moving forward with another Web cast form the Rangers spring training facility in Surprise, AZ
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/rangers-podcast-in-arlington
Check it out in between March Madness numbness or something like that. Only one more day to go so enjoy it while you still can.
I need more words, so here's another needless sentence.
Rangers Press Conference - Video
Here are some sound bites from Wash, Ryan and Daniels from today's press conference. I'll try to post a higher resolution video later today, but I wanted to get something up quickly. Please forgive the shaky-cam. Not a lot of time to get set up properly:
http://rangerspodcast.blogspot.com/2010/03/ron-washington-press-conference.html
I will try to resume the live streaming shows tomorrow at 1:00 Dallas time.

RPiA in Surprise - Day 3 - POSTPONED
Believe it or not, we are still here and we are still allowed to do this thing. They haven't pulled the plug on me - at least for now. As always catch the fun here:
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/rangers-podcast-in-arlington
I really appreciate everyone's support with this little project. It's been more a proof of concept this week, and I hope to do more stuff like this throughout the year.
**EDIT** - Forgot to add - yes, it is at 1:00 Dallas Time
***2nd EDIT*** - Team has called a press conference for 11:00 (1:00 Dallas) - so the show will be on hold for a while and may be cancelled outright for today.
RPiA in Surprise - Day 2
They haven't kicked us out yet - so we'll do another show today from the Rangers spring training facility in Surprise, AZ. You can watch all the fun here:
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/rangers-podcast-in-arlington
Worked last night to take care of the bugs that affected us yesterday. I hope I got everything cleared up.
Tune in - and use the chat session to ask questions. I do glance over there from time to time during the show, and if we have time, I'll ask the.
RPiA Live from Spring Training
Hello everyone. We are taking Rangers Podcast in Arlington on the road to Surprise, AZ, and we're doing the shows from the Rangers spring training complex there. Here's the cool part, you can watch us live everyday at 1:00 Dallas time here:
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/rangers-podcast-in-arlington
Sadly, our leader Adam Morris is unable to attend. We will continue on the best we can with whichever warm body we can get!

Michael Young - Inside Corner Video
Rangers 3B Michael Young is back in the lineup a little earlier than expected. He talked with Evan Grant of D Magazine's Inside Corner about the risk he is taking , and why he feels it is necessary.
Short, sweet and to the point. Which is pretty much how Young told Wash he was playing.
Enjoy - and please remember to tip your server (they host a lot of files you know).
EDIT - Well, that didn't take long.
RPiA Mini-Cast #5 - Robbie Ross
An interview I did with Rangers LHP prospect Robbie Ross during spring training. Ross was picked in the second round last year despite warnings of signability. They were able to get the deal done for waaaaaaaaaay above slot.
He's currently in Spokane with a 4-3 record, and ERA just over 2.50 and a WHIP of 1.20.
You can listen to the interview in the usual places: on the blog or on iTunes.
Thanks for listening.

Inside Corner - Interview with Jarrod Saltalamacchia
Hey, hey kids! Look who showed up to Inside Corner to talk with our good friend Evan Grant: Texas Rangers catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia! Salty (whose name is not Twitter-friendly) talks about his off-season work and how that has translated into his success behind the plate. He also has a fashion tip that sets him apart from pretty much every other catcher out there.
So, give it a click while you are sweating out the trade deadline (or is that just me?).
