...specifically with regards to individual defensive contributions based off of specificpi pitchers/entire pitching staffs, and with possible application to overall team winning percentage projections. Inspired by the acquisitions of our two new shiny defensive OF'ers, and the discussions as to how they would be more beneficial to FB types (e.g. Washburn) than groundball (Silva) or strikeout (Bedard) pitchers. This is a very rough theory that I've been thinking about for only a couple days, and the conclusions I come to may not be terribly original or insightful, but by the end should give me (and hopefully others) a better insight to this type of thing regardless of whether the outcome is original or not. I'm posting this here as a very unfinished theory in hopes to get some collaboration/feedback in the process. With the warning that I'm not a very concise writer, with a tendancy to over-explain things/ramble at times, and I'm definitely piecing this together as I go along, let's get this underway.
