Hi my name name is TerpTrevino and im addicted to sports......I dont know why I just am. My favorite sports to follow are basketball and football. I tend to prefer college sports more because they have more heart and passion. Sadly I am a Dallas Cowboys fan living in Redskins territory, so I take my fair share of @#$&, but I can and will defend my 'Boys. I am a die hard Terps fan and look forward to enrolling there in the upcoming months! Lets go Terps!

Thank you...
I'm proud and glad to say I was there in person for perhaps one of the greatest finishes in Terps basketball history. What my Terps gave from this game is one great memory, a sore throat, a trampled phone from when it fell out of my case during the ensuing mosh pit and most importantly a renewed sense of why we as fans must always believe. As cliche as it may sound, believing is one of the biggest conections as fans we have to our teams. I remember watching as a few people began to file out of Comcast during the final timeout, after Vasquez's original game winner was null in void, and thinking "I can't believe you are leaving now. You just spent 2 hours supporting the Terps and your walking out on them with 1.5 seconds left." I know the game looked lost, I mean how could we possibly make a second game winner? I had the same feeling in my gut the second it was made clear a timeout was called, but it doesn't mean it's not impossible...as we saw today. We all know it's not easy dealing with rough times or heartbreaking losses, and we as Terps fans have had our fair share of those, but they make the impossible and good times feel that much better. And who knows, maybe this leads to a recruiting boost, a deep deep tournament run, a bigger role for Tucker. And maybe this is just the high of the game still in me or somthing but this team is special and I'll leave it at that. So here is a thank you to all the fans who stayed for the final seconds, for the fans who remain loyal through thick and thin, who never stop believing even when no one else will. I also want to extend this thank you to Tucker,Toliver,Vasquez,Novak, Gary,Suter, Fridge, Jordan, Dixon, Mosely, Neal,Baxter, Bias, Frese,McBrien and any Terp, present, past and future, who has given thier all while wearing thier red and gold. Thank you for constantly reminding me and hopefuly alot of you why we love the Terps so much.
Q: Should Greivis Vasquez's number be considered for retirement?
With the talk of Greivis either heading to the NBA or possibly pulling out to return for his senior continues, I thought I would stir the pot and propose this question. I remember asking my self this question as I looked up into the rafters moments before the start of the UNC game on Feb 21st, ( By the way those tickets were the best birthday gift ever!!!) and after his historic triple double anwsering this question; yes he does.
Now I know Vasquez hasn't led a team to a National Championship or even an ACC title, but he still is one of the most fasicnating players ever to don the red and black of Maryland. He has played on 2 NCAA tournament teams, both making the field of 32, he always seems to play his best in the big games (most of the time), he seems to progress more and more each year, and he led the team in just about everything this year, which is an amazing accomplishment in the ACC. I think he is one of the greats, and if he returns to school I think he's a lock....but what do you think?
Can I get Dino Gregory some love!?
I know the Maryland basketball season has come to an end and the only thing really being discussed is the Terps recruiting and Lance of course. And I remeber reading blogs throughout the season where comments from readers were calling for players to transfer and among those players was Dino. #33 earned minutes throughout the season a made an impact at times, but where he really came out was during the ACC tournament until the end of the season. This guy plays with heart every time he's out on the court, and isnt afraid to do the dirty work at time. He also gave us some explosive blocks throughout the season, a stat he was second on the team with 34. He's very athletic and raw, but he silenced alot of critics on the Terps run. Sure, he has been inconsistant on the offensive side, but he's only a sophmore, but what I think he brought to this team was defense and a shot of energy off the bench. I dont want this kid goind anywhere because of the potential I think he has. He has really won me over, and hopefully he was won some haters over too.
McDonald's All-American Game- Notes
Final- West 110-113 East
The East Boys All-American team came back to win a high scoring and high flying game. The Georgia Tech signee Derrick Favors led the East with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Local boy Dante Taylor and Pitt recruit chipped in 15 points.
Observations
- There seemed to be a lot of turnovers among these All-stars. Every fast break seemed to end in a miss placed pass or bad desicion. But i guess that comes with only a few days practice with new teammates.
- The big men in this years contest were really impressive. Along with being able to control the boards, alot of them were able to hit long jumpers and the occasion three ball with ease. The one play that stands out was Keith Gallon (Oklahoma) a 6'9" 300 pounder hitting a sweet three in the first half.
-Maryland target Lance Stephenson had a ok game. Nothing spectacular. He looked a little off on alot of his shots, going 4-10. One that stood out was a wide open three he missed in the second half. He really looked fustrated out there. He did however impress me on the assists he made, including a pretty lob to Cousins for a monster dunk.
- You could tell by the score that this was a high scoring game, but i was surprised by the lack of defense in this game. Players just waiting for rebounds to come to them, only to have an opponent come out of no where with the putpack. No one seemed to attempt defense on fast break plays, just looking to get the ball back on offense.
- It was cool to see Xavier Henry diving on the floor for a loose ball in the first half. He is rated #1 (ESPN) and it showed how much he wants to win. He could also be the one that drives Lance to Maryland by way of Xavier going to Kansas.
