Born and raised in Houston, I became an avid Oiler fan when my dad took me to my first pro game as a child in the late 60's. The Oilers beat Joe Namath's Jets that day and I was hooked. Came to despise Beezelbud along with the rest of my home town and wished we could have run him out of town and kept the Oilers. Took my dad to the Texans' inaugural draft in 2002 for his birthday and we came away with ear to ear grins, awesome souvenirs and high hopes.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried when The Great One caught his TD pass in our first ever playoff game.
