Nelson Peltz, aged 67 owner of 880th Forbes Richest Person (in the WORLD!) Ranking, Looking At Isles?

4

"The Brooklyn-born Peltz is the former owner of Snapple and is currently the CEO of Trian Fund Management and a board director of the Wendy's/Arby's group. His financial worth has been estimated at over $1 billion and this year Forbes ranked him the 880th richest person in the world. The 67-year-old Peltz owns homes in Bedford, NY, Palm Beach and France." An option, but there doesn't seem to be much impetus for a move and the article gives very little reason for hope. Still, someone's looking at this doggy in the window!

Toronto also signed Corey Patterson, Winston Abreu, Sean Henn, Mike Hinckley, and Ryan Budde, all primarily for depth. The AL East is theirs!

Help A Blogger Get His Son A Service Dog

I got linked to this and thought it was a worthwhile cause that we could help out with through donations or just passing it along to the other blogs we read and others in general. SBNation Mountain West Connection blogger, Jeremy Mauss, has a 3 yr old son with Autism, Periventricular Leukomalacia and mild Cerebral Palsy. A hefty load for a child so young. The page links to his donation page where they're at about 8K of the needed 13K. Any little bit helps. Thanks.

A certain Frans Neilsen is missing. Tavares is the top Isle and Mark Streit somehow has 2500. Sean bleeping Avery has a moderately successful write-in campaign going. C'mon people, RALLY 'ROUND THE FRANS!

The 10 Best Restaurant/Bars to Watch a Hockey Game in North America

3. Long Island Marriott - It's been right there across the parking lot from the Nassau Mausoleum, from Day 1. Every single hockey player, scout, referee, coach, GM, trainer, whatever has been inside this hotel and, likely, the bar. My favorite memory: having a diet soda or two with the Hanson Brothers, after an Avs-Islanders game in 1995. There they were, in full Charlestown Chief uniform, after doing an appearance between periods that night.

Niederreiter, the fifth overall pick in the NHL draft in June, went down and later limped off the ice and did not return. After the game, he had an ice pack on a bruise on the back of his left knee. He said he hoped the injury was serious.

Averting Our Gaze From Streit

Losing arguably our best player kind of sucks.  As a result the season can turn out one of several ways: 1. Isles perform worse than expected...and even worse without MS. 2. Isles perform as...
