Hindsight in the Aftermath of the Rams Draft

via prod.static.rams.clubs.nfl.com It's surprising how much I like the Rams' draft haul despite the fact that Les Snead & Jeff Fisher didn't draft any one of the players I really wanted to be ...

What to do at No. 2?

Sports Illustrated's Peter King gives his two cents on what the Rams should do with the 2nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Griffin = Half-Lion, Half-Eagle

And so it is foretold that he who rules the land and sky will lead the Clippers to the promised land.

Dodgers Among 3 Finalists in Tanaka Sweepstakes

According to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times, Sports Hochi out of Tokyo is reporting that Masahiro Tanaka has narrowed his list down to three potential suitors: New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels. The Yankees are supposedly the favorite at this point.

Giancarlo Stanton Smitten with L.A.?

An MLB source who has spent time with Giancarlo Stanton this offseason said he seems increasingly smitten with the Dodgers and the Hollywood lifestyle and part-time owner Magic Johnson and has buddied up with Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp. The Dodgers are the front-runner to land him when he becomes a free agent after 2016. The Marlins very likely would consider dealing him next winter if he rejects an expected multiyear offer in the coming months.

Clippers coach Doc Rivers admits he ‘walked away’ from Celtics

"I did at the end of the day," Rivers admitted. "You make choices in your life, it happens… It was a very difficult decision for me to make; whether to walk away and sit a couple of years, which was another way I was leaning, or if the right job presented itself to walk away and do that.

Sac-Town Getting Gay

The Toronto Raptors have reached an agreement in principle to send Rudy Gay to the Sacramento Kings, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Kings will send Greivis Vasquez, John Salmons, Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes to the Raptors. The Kings will also acquire Quincy Acy and Aaron Gray in the deal, sources said.

Clippers BIG Logo Jersey to be Used for Christmas Game

For the third consecutive season, the Clippers will have a BIG Christmas.

In partnership with adidas, the official uniform provider of the NBA, the Clippers will wear blue short-sleeve jerseys as part of the league’s BIG Logo uniform collection.

“I just love the logo,” Clippers longtime equipment manager Pete Serrano said. “The logo says so much about who we are. What better way than to have our logo out in front. I just love the colors.”

The jersey is paired with an ultra-lightweight stretch woven short that offers maximum ventilation and will feature chrome piping.

CP3's MVP Campaign

For the Clippers to get to where we need them to go, Chris Paul is going to have to put together an MVP-type season. Hopefully, he continues to follow through on Doc's directive of being...

Larry Fitzgerald on trading block?

Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted Sunday that "Larry Fitzgerald will be in play this off-season, in likely event a deal not completed before Tuesday’s trade deadline." The 3-4 Cardinals would be waving an early white flag by dealing their franchise player prior to the Oct. 29 deadline, but Fitzgerald’s numbers continue to suffer at the hands of a shoddy line and QB play in the desert.

Fitzgerald also has five more seasons left on the eight-year, $128.5 million deal he signed in 2011. Even though he finished shy of 800 yards receiving last season and is sitting on a sub-1,000-yard pace in 2013, Fitzgerald could draw a substantial return package for the Cardinals. That possibility may be especially intriguing ahead of the 2014 draft, which features a bevy of potential star quarterbacks — a position of great need for the Cardinals for multiple seasons now.

Chris Paul's Half Court Shot After Practice

Watch him walk away like it ain't no thing.

Shades of Magic vs. Bird: CP3 vs. J.J.

Two highly competitive playmakers, the league's best point guard versus possibly its most deadeye shooter, now in the same backcourt to hopefully create their own version of a "dream team".

Lions cut Kickalicious™

Maybe this trick-kicker will find another team to take a chance on him.

PG Prep Prospect, Josh Perkins, has UCLA as finalist for 2014-15

Ranked 25th in the new Scout 100 rankings, Perkins has narrowed his list of schools to UCLA, Gonzaga, and Minnesota after dropping Kentucky due to its apparent lack of interest. Decision likely to come Saturday and his father says the Bruins' immediate need for a point guard in 2014-15 is appealing.

The Next Penny Hardaway?

If this kid is indeed along the lines of my all-time favorite skilled player, sign me up in going after him. Watching his game videos, he needs to work on his left-hand finishing along with his shooting consistency and strength. The kid might even have a shot at being the next Shaun Livingston given his quickness and point guard skills albeit without the same court vision.

SI MMQB Rams Preview

"This young team is poised to take a big step forward in 2013. That is, assuming everyone stays healthy. As is common with second-year rebuilding projects, the Rams have a glaring lack of depth in several key areas. But hey, that’s the most benign 'major weakness' this team has had in years."

Boston Herald article: Doc Rivers, C’s planned for early exit

"(He) had to say those things," said one source. "That’s what the team wanted to project, and that was part of the reason for the five-year contract when they knew it probably wasn’t going to be (completed). The Celtics also knew if he wanted to step down, they’d be able to get something for him if he wanted another job before the fifth year was up."

POLL: KG or Doc?

I've already made my preference known that I prefer having Kevin Garnett rather than being granted the privilege of overpaying Rivers. I'm curious what the community opinion is. Dumping DJ's...

SI Article: Why Boston will call Clippers back.

The incentives for Boston to deal Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett may be too great to not revive trade talks with L.A.
