NHL News: Todd Bertuzzi to join the Detroit Red Wings
According to Darren Dregar, Todd Bertuzzi is close to returning to the Red Wings. Thus another option for the Rangers off the table. Not that it was a good option. I may be in the minority on this one but I have favorable feelings towards Burtuzzi. Aside from the Steve Moore incident, Burtuzzi is a guy who you would want to go to war with. I actually wanted the Rangers to sign him last year so he could be reunited with Markus Naslund. The West Coast Express was one of the NHL's most dominant lines.
Nevertheless, Detroit gets tougher. They add grit and some scoring. All in all, I think that the dominance of Detroit will come to an end real soon. With a lack of goaltending depth and aging stars, I feel Detroit will fall back to earth. Once Nicklas Lidstrom and Chris Osgood retire, Hockeytown will take a big hit.

Patrick Kane arrested

Nice one Patrick. To engage in an altercation like this for $1 dollar or so is mindboggling.
Marian Injured?
Hossa that is. Apparently Marian Hossa has a shoulder injury that could sideline him until December. The Chicago situation seems to get bleaker as the days go by. New GM Stan Bowman has taken control of a team that is in possibly the worst salary cap situation in the league. With Toews, Kane, and Keith up for new contracts at the seasons end, many are wondering how those young studs will fit into an already capped out team.
High Risk, High Reward. The New York Rangers "Mid" Off-Season Report Card
After the hideous exit in last year’s playoffs, most Ranger fans wanted drastic changes made to the team. I would say Mr. Glen Sather has fulfilled our wished. Sather has made "smart" moves this off-season. The Rangers have gotten bigger, faster, and stronger. There are no more dead weights like Daws, Prucha, Zherdev (Presumably), Gomez, etc. The additions of Gaborik, Lisin, and Kotalik will all help the Rangers on offense with their tremendous speed and scoring potential. Brian Boyle, and Donald Brasher are the massive tandem that will deal with the Pronger’s of the Eastern Conference. And maybe the highlight of the off-season, The trade of Scott Gomez. Not only the salary dump and getting a local kid in Chris Higgins, the acquisition of highly touted prospect Ryan McDougnah makes me wonder if Bob Gainey was intoxicated the night prior.
Just the numbers put up by Mr.Jermaine Dye:
.298 Average 21HR 59RBI .372OBP .564SLG .936OPS
GOMEZ TRADED TO MONTREAL?!?!

Yankee Fans I need your approval. I want to switch over to the Empire, but being a former Met fan I need your approval.
I was a Met fan through the 70s and up until players like Piazza, Ventura and Zeile left. However, I am sick and tired of being a part of a garbage franchise. I feel that I need approval from some Yankee fans. So please, take me away from the joke that are the Mets. The Yankees are BASEBALL and are the greatest franchise in sports. So Lets go Yankees, beat Tampa tonight(If its not rained out)
For Omar: It's do or Dye
How much longer can the Mets go on with their C+ product on the field? The likes of Reed, Tatis, R. Martinez can fill the holes left by their injured teammates for only so long. The Mets have considerable weaknesses in the outfield and at first base. With the Mets treading water, it is up to Omar Minaya to become the stopgap.
Nik Zherdev: Is he destined for Siberia?
Since Alex Kovalev, have the Rangers had a player who possesses such "talent", yet refuses to play halfway decent. Sure, a couple of players come to mind. However, Zherdev could presumably be the best of the bunch if we are judging solely on "skill".
