Damn. So many posts about Monta Ellis and OKC Thunder jacking our stuff.

I wanted to get off-topic a little.

I see so many interesting screen names on this site, I just wanted people to share how you picked your screen name. Switch it up a bit and get to know each other a little more since this is such a close fan base.

I'll start. I go by Barnes Supremacy, even though Barnes is not my favorite Warrior and I have never even seen Bourne Supremacy. Barnes is not even with the team anymore. I honestly just thought it was a cool name at the time, but now, seems a bit out dated. But I'm sticking with it.

So, if anybody wants to share, how did you pick your screen name?

Will Marco Belinelli be a threat, ever?

Marco Bellineli. Love him. Hate him. No question there is potential. But how will we ever see it?

Look at most of the great shooters in the NBA. Most of them (with the exception of a few - Ray Allen, Larry Bird) all had two things which we lack : a pass first point guard and a dominant post man. These are two essential ingredients to give shooters wide open looks.

Pass First Point Guard - Baron Davis is not the typical "pass first" PG. I have a feeling Monta Ellis won't be either. Having a PG that can penetrate and create is very helpful to a shooter. I mean, if we had Nash or Kidd they would probably be setting Beli up all day with open looks. I mean, Reggie Miller had Marc Jackson, even Jeff Hornysex had John Stockton. Since we do not carry one of this types, and a pass first PG is basically extinct in the modern day NBA, Bellinelli will probably suck until we get one.

Dominant Post Man - Post man can create shots for shooters when they are double teamed. When they are good passers to boot, it makes it even more unstoppable baby. Picture Chris Webber and Peja Stojakovic. That tandem was money. Steve Kerr had Michael Jordan and Tim Duncan. I really think this team still has no post players, dominant at that. Ronny Turiaf filled a need but he is not going to command double teams on the block. Nor Jacko or Maggette. If we do not get someone who can command a double team on the post, Bellinelli will probably suck.

I want Bellinelli to succeed, but I do not think there is enough pieces around him to make him better. There have been many successful shooters without these two aspects: Michael Redd, Mike Miller, Kyle Korver, Glen Rice, Chuck and Wesley Person.

I know Bellinelli wants to be more than a shooter, I get it.He wants to play D, he wants to be a PG, etc. But he will always be known as a shooter. There are people who already gave up on this kid, but I am saying with the right parts, he would be a threat in the league.

What's everyone's take on Marco Belinelli becoming a threat in this league and with our team? Does he need help or can he do it by himself? Future Baller or Future Bust?

Pick 3 Captains

With the departure of Boom and most likely Barnsey, anybody got suggestions who our 3 captains should be?

Number 1 is Jacko of course, he is probably the vocal leader of the team now. But is this Jack's team or Monta's team?

And is Monta ready to step into the leadership/captain role? Or Biedrins? Can we expect those youngsters to get on the vets if they see something afoul?

Or Al when everyone knows he's on the block?

Or do we give a captain spot to Maggette cause he's been around for a while?

So my question is, can you pick the 3 captains of our team that will lead us back to the playoffs? And why?

Ur Thoughts?

Us and The Nuggets

So its becoming more increasingly obvious as the season dwindles down that the last spot in the playoffs is between 2 teams: Dubbs and Nuggs. With Houston's surge and Portland's demise its between us dos to have a makeout battle for the 8th and final spot.

Those top 7 spots seem untouchable. Some teams (Dallas, PHX, NO) have the potential to slip down to our territory but they have loads of talent to ensure they will not fall down under. It seems like even if the Dubbs win 10 in a row we still might be #8. Everybody here knows about the Dubbs, but what do we know about the Nuggs this year?

Carmelo is pissed because they didn't get any help (no Ron Ron 2.0, no Mike Miller).

Their defense may possibly be worse than ours. (Over the past month, they have held only one opponent under 100 points)

Injuries are piling. (Chucky Atkins, Nene, K Mart have all missed significant time).

More Road Games than Home Games. Currently 11-16 on the road. (14 of their last 26 games on the road).

Tough upcoming schedule. (They play PHX 3 times, Spurs 2X, Jazz 2X, Rockets 2X, Pistons 2X and Dubbs 2X).

Not to mention between March 2 - March 10 they play in a row: Rockets, Suns, Spurs, Jazz and Spurs. (0-5?) Would be nice.

Well, hopefully that should make us feel better about our playoff chances. So we have to root for Denver to lose because it is the same as a Dubbs win.

Any other reasons to give us more hope?

Double-Digit Deficits

I know the Warriors are tops in the league for PPG, 3 point attempts, points in the paint and fast break points. That's all good.

Another category that our Warriors are leading the league in happens to be a double edged blade, kind of. Well, the Warriors are tops in the league at coming back from double digit defecits. This is good and this is bad.

The Warriors have trailed by double digits in 11 of their 26 wins this season.

Good because it shows that we are never out of a game and we have the ability to rally back while down by 20 points. Good because we have the mentality that its never over til its over. Good because it shows mental toughness, tenacity and resilency.

Bad because our offense goes through 2.5 quarters of dry spells. Bad because it shows that we are not a top tier team (i.e Spurs, Celts) because we allow ourselves to be in the position in the first place. Bad because we allow sub .500 teams to be beating us by double digits too frequently.

What is your guys take on this? Is this a good statistic or a bad one?

Iverson edges McGrady

This could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it.

Good news, McGrady is out and Iverson is in, creating another guarenteed spot for a guard. Baron Davis takes the spot and ends yet another draught of a Warrior not making the All Star Game.

Bad news, Baron loses rest and risks possible injury attending and playing in the game instead of taking much needed days off for a rest.

So now that AI's in, is Baron a shoe-in?

There's Nash, CP3, Kobe for sure. B Roye may be another possible. Manu, Tony, Deron probably don't make it.

Call me stupid (please don't) but there is no possible way they can exempt Baron this year. Will he get snubbed?

http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/7717438

POLL: Warriors Best Dunk

I know this poll has probably been conducted dozens of times but there are some recent dunks to add to the list. Some from last year, some this year.

I just wanted everybody's opinion, what was the most craziest, natiest, vicious, obscene, in your face dunk by a Warriors player. Below are the 6 that stand out to me as some of the foulest dunks I have ever seen.

Please vote and perhaps explain why?

I have attached Youtube clips so everyone can refresh their memory. Or just look at them to get a good laugh.

Biedrins over Amare and Nash-
So, Dirk Nowitzki "hates" the Warriors

Just reading in the paper that Dirk Nowitzki hates the Warriors and their players. Why is he so sour? This guy got the MVP but obviously lacks in having a "good sportsmanlike" personality.

So you "Hate" us Dirk, huh? Like we all said, those are pretty strong words. This is just basketball right?

How many people "hate" Dirk or the Mavericks? The Kobe hating is one thing, but this is personal.

I don't know but I pretty much lost all disrespect for Dirk, but not the Mavs. I still like Avery, but Dirk is stooping a little low.

I'm sure the words may be taken out of context, you guys judge for yourself.

"When a team eliminates you from the playoffs, I sure would hope you're not trying to necessarily send anybody any Christmas gifts," Nowitzki told Dallas reporters this week. "When you play a team in the playoffs, you learn to hate people and hate teams. So definitely, Golden State is one of them."

http://www.insidebayarea.com/sports/ci_7403202

Carlos Boozer reviews the Golden State Warriors

Just read Carlos Boozer's review on the Dubbs this year, it was very obvious how he did not want to say any "Bulletin Board" material, this cat watched his tongue.

I bet he thinks everybody forgot about J Rich bouncing balls of his forehead and shooting 3's.

http://dimemag.com/2007/10/29/carlos-boozers-western-conference-preview/

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
They gave us a run for our money. I know we won 4-1, but it was much closer than that. Baron is just a really smooth player. He's got all the tricks, all the handles. He had the Dunk of the Year against us. If he stays healthy and plays like he did in the playoffs, he could be the MVP. The Warriors are like a different version of Phoenix, and Nellie is the mastermind. They have a group of guys who play fast, play up-tempo and hectic and make you speed up your pace. Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes are good. Biedrins is a good shot blocker who rebounds. The Italian kid, [Marco] Belinelli, he can shoot the ball well beyond the three-point line; he can stroke it, man. And the way Baron does such a good job of driving past the defense and kicking it out to the open man, he might end up starting.
