Trade Avery Bradley (and Rasheed) for Gerald Wallace
Most of the talk lately is that we're getting Barbosa for Rasheed's contract and that would be a good move but I think a better move would be getting Gerald Wallace for Avery Bradley, Rasheed, Erden (to make the $ work) and next year's 1st pick.
Wallace plays LeBron better than anyone else in the league. He doesn't outplay James (no one does) but he makes him work on both ends of the court. He puts up pretty good numbers against him while playing a tougher "D" against him than anyone else I can think of.
Giving up Bradley would be hard. He has great potential but I think that we would do it. The question is, would Charlotte? They would be giving up a present day star (or near-star) for a potential star and a salary drop. I guess they wouldn't, but maybe if we add Glen Davis to the mix...
We get Shaq and Barbosa ?
Sounds like we might get Shaq with the MLE and trade Wallace for Barbosa. Not bad actually. It would make a nucleus of Rondo, Barbosa, Allen and Pierce for the smalls and Garnett, Shaq, Davis and Perk for the bigs. Add a couple of VM's and a couple of our youngsters and we can go all the way.
About the youngsters, Tony Gaffney was the "last" man cut by the Lakers last year and is just getting over an injury, so his game may be rusty (hasn't played in six months?) but he's got real good "D" and a good all around game (the best of our Summer's). I think that Harangody might also make the team, he can give us the excitement off the bench every once in a while. Lafayette probably wont make the team if we get Barbosa. And Avery Bradley will probably take a year or two to develop, but he might be the best of the 2010 draft some day.
All in all, I think we're in good shape.
Getting Tayshaun Prince
If we can trade Rasheed Wallace's "retiring" contract along with Kendrick Perkins for Tayshaun Prince and then add Brendan Haywood on mid-level, I think that we can go all the way.
Pierce, Rondo and Garnett are champs. Haywood should be as good as Perkins and Prince is much better at money time than Allen. So we're definitely a better playoff team with this line up
The Pistons would be interested in this trade for the salary drop and the possibility that Perkins works out for them.
Good Bye Do-oc, Good Bye Do-oc!
From my first e-mail, or whatever these things are, I was a big Doc supporter. I liked his "Mad Scientist" approach to the game. But for much too long now he's been frightened! He goes with his big guns to a fault and maybe because of that, the team's moral seems to be extremely low (maybe nonexistent) and if the moral is low it can only be Doc Rivers fault. The players (Pierce, etc.) can't be this bad..... Why play Nate Robinson only 5 min's in the first Half? He really seems to be afraid to take out the starters.
Although Doc was great in our championship year, there were always worrying reports. When Kevin Pittsnogle was on the team he used to make him stop every time he made a mistake (Pittsnogle's mistake) and make him say - "My name is Kevin Pittsnogle and I will not make this same mistake again." He ridiculed a player because of that players name! I always had a doubt in me because of that. And then recently it has been reported that he called a few players at the trade deadline and left a message for them that made it seem like they had been traded. Then when the player came to the office, he let him know that it was just a joke. Just a joke? Rivers may not be the pro that we thought he was. His handling of the team is not what it should be. Pierce might be a better coach! Or Ainge himself!
Big trade, big trade, very very big trade!
If someone knows Danny Ainge's phone number please give him a call and tell him to trade:
Ray Allen, Tony Allen, Glen Davis, Eddie House and Brian Scacabrine
for
Al Harrington, Nate Robinson, Eddy Curry and Jared Jeffries. (And maybe with the understanding that the Knicks also buy out Larry Hughes. We then could go after him.)
The Knicks would probably make the trade, for the salary drop (Curry and Jefferies) and the fact that Ray Allen will be a Hall of Famer and could be the man in New York (till next year). And we would have a legitimate scorer off the bench (Harrington) an exciting point back-up (Robinson) a low post presence (Curry, when healthy) and a pretty good off guard in Hughes (if we could sign him).
I know that Curry has some big faults, but Rasheed Wallace ain't the answer and Curry would be an improvement against most match-up's.
Please put that call through to Mr. Ainge.
Bring back Ricky Davis
How about Tony Allen, J.R. Giddens and Billy Walker for Ricky Davis and Mardy Collins. Davis did and probably still does have a lot of talent and he may be the gamble that works (unlike the Marbury thing). And Collins, at 6'5" could play off of House pretty well, if need be.
The second squad would be Daniels, House, Ricky Davis, Williams (or Glen Davis) and Wallace. Not bad.
And with the open spot we could bring in Raef LaFrentz... but that's a whole 'nother story.
