Wow, I didn't realizes Sabes has had such staying power, compared to his peers. How did this happen?

McCovey Chronicles How to get opening day tickets at reasonable prices?

Hey all,

So, for the first time in a while, my girlfriend and I find ourselves both free on opening day and able to attend. The only problem? We don't have tickets, and we don't have a ton of money.

It looks like our options if we want tickets ahead of time are 1) Buy the opening day six pack on the Giants website, 2) pay like four times the normal ticket price on stubhub, or 3) hope to get lucky on craigslist. None of these seem like particularly good options, so we were thinking of just heading out early to the park and trying to find someone who will sell us some reasonably prices seats. So a few questions to those here who may have dealt with similar situations in the past...

1. Is it stupid to hope for reasonable prices on opening day? We don't want or need great seats, view reserved is fine with us, we just wanna be there. Should I just expect to have to break down and pay a boatload, though?

2. What would be the best way to go about getting tickets on the day of the game? Go early and try and find someone with extras? Wait till right before first pitch, when scalpers are trying to get rid of extras? We've never done this before, so any advice would be welcome.

Thanks guys, I'm really excited for Friday, I just hope we find a way to get in.

McCovey Chronicles San Jose Giants on Comcast?

So, I want to watch the San Jose Giants game which is supposedly on Comcast tonight according to this. But I can't find the listing on my Comcast menu. The site says "Comcast Hometown Network Digital Channel 104 throughout most Northern California regions." What the heck is Comcast Hometown Network? Is that different than the regular Comcast Digital Cable that I have? Channel 104 on my menu has no useful information.

Has anyone been able to watch these games? I really want to see Posey, AnVil, et al on the field. Somebody help me!
