Sunday night the Boston Celtics will face the New York Knickerbockers (and the detestable little elf, Nate Robinson) and following what we all hope will be a early lump of coal for Mike D'Antoni, Celtics Stuff Live will be hitting the air postgame to open our presents a little early and chat about the game. Joining us will be the immortal Bruce Allen of Boston Sports Media Watch. Bruce is a born and bred gentleman from the "Live Free or Die" state and brings that same passion to the world of sports. Seven years ago, after finally getting tired of complaining about the type of media coverage the local sports franchises were receiving, Bruce started BSMW as an outlet that he and other Boston sports fans can use to display their criticism and praise of the local sports media. Allen has been cited by nearly every national sports news outlet for his outstanding work, and writes a weekly column for the Boston Metro. In years past, Bruce also wrote about the Celtics for Comcast Sports Net.

In addition to all of these accolades and honors, Bruce agreed to start up a new page on his site for Celtics commentary, called the Full Court Press, with a certain wet behind the ears blogger (the handsome one, second block down) who has now gone on to ridiculous levels of wealth and fame... or something like that. The Full Court Press, created in the mold of the wildly successful and must-read blog Patriots Daily, was also home to current Celtics Stuff Live staff writer Kevin Henkin. In other words, by the end of the interview we'll all sit around the yule log, drinking potent egg nog, and signing old Bing Crosby chestnuts.

Of course with the wild and woolly weather to come this weekend, we can only hope the power grid of Northern New England cooperate enough for this show to get off the ground. Make sure you tip your local electrical line worker this weekend!

Comcast SportsNet Statement

A statement from Comcast SportsNet regarding yesterday's missed game winning shot against Toronto:

Our transmission vendor incorrectly dropped the feed at 5:30 p.m. despite pre-game instructions from us to keep the feed open until 6:00 p.m. and an in-game call before 5:30 reminding them to keep the window open.

CSN does not own the transmission lines from the arena and we rely on third parties to build a transmission path from the arena to our studios. Somewhere along the line, the transmission line closed at 5:30 and the feed went down. We were able to pick up audio via a backup phone line transmission of Mike and Tommy’s call.

We are as upset as anyone regarding the dropped telecast and we are working with our vendor to ensure that it does not happen in the future.

Certainly a regrettable situation, but one Celtics fans likely won't forget about soon. Hopefully there are many more game winning shots, aired on TV or not, over the next few months.
