Buffalo Rumblings Our 2010 Starting Left Tackle?

Since the draft, I have been doing as much research on the players we drafted. I keep coming back to one specific player, Ed Wang. I did not do a ton of research on him before the draft due to the fact that(like most Bills fans) I thought that we would take care of our glaring need at left tackle in the first 2 rounds. After the draft I started looking up every player we drafted. On film, Wang probably jumped out at me the most.

Chargers WR Kassim Osgood is stating that NT Jamal Williams is going to be cut. Osgood's report has been confirmed. Bills GM Buddy Nix is very familiar with Williams, having spent eight years with him in San Diego. Buffalo needs a NT for their new 3-4 defense. Discuss.

Buffalo Rumblings My dream Bills Mock (Opinions Needed!)

Now I am going to try to keep this as realistic as I possibly can. I am going to include what I think could realistically happen. I feel like this year's draft and next year are the two most important events for the Bills in since the retirement of Jim Kelly. I am going to give up pick #104 ( 4th round) and pick #168 (6th round) for Troy Smith. I think that this is a fair value for our future starting QB. I am a fan of his, and I think he could be an above average QB in this league(think younger, more athletic Matt Hasselback). Anyways, here we go:

Buffalo Rumblings My Offseason Plan

Talking a week or so to step back and look at the Buffalo Bills situation currently, I am not as depressed as I was at  the end of the season.Yes Ralph did hire a 70 year old GM. I am not going to argue that. What I will disagree with is that 70 years old means he can't do the job. If I told you that I could give you a personel man that could turn the Bills around in 2 years, would you be on board. Of course most of you would. Nix had a hand in a turn around like that in SD. 2 years from now he will only be 72. People live longer now. 70 is the new 60. I an going to give you my version after the jump of what I would do if I was a 70 year old man in charge of the Bills.

Mike Martz wants the gig, a league source told ESPN.com.

Martz, the former St. Louis Rams head coach, is an intriguing candidate because of his association with Perry Fewell, Bills starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and hot rookie safety Jairus Byrd. The source said Martz is also high on Buffalo's other quarterback, Trent Edwards.

Patriots trade Seymor to Raiders for 2011 first rounder pick

I am sure glad we don't have to face him 2 times a year anymore. I do not have a link yet, but Adam Schefter just said it on Sports Center.

Buffalo Rumblings Bulter will be a strength at right tackle

I have taken a couple of weeks to sit back and think about our o-line situation. After looking long and hat, I feel very confident our line as it is today will be Improved Drastically from last year. I think we will be much more physical that what we have been. I feel we have a smart, aggressive, and nasty player at each position. An article I read about Butler finally pushed me over the edge for the positive. http://buf.scout.com/2/869308.html

It just seems like we finally know what we are doing. The least physical player we have is probably Walker. Left tackle does not need the mean streak like the other o-line positions. Now I do feel there may be a small learning curve with the rookies, I think the addition of Handgarterwill accelerate this process. If you look at how he preformed last year for Carolina, when he took over at center is when they became a dominant force in the rushing game. I cannot find where I read it now, but I believe he was only responsible for one sack. If they did not give Jordan Gross such a huge contract, they would have pushed to resign him. I feel he will be the leader of this o-line that we have sorely missed over the last few years. With an improved o-line and an improved wr group, I think the sky is the limit. Then again, it is still June 2nd.

Buffalo Rumblings We need to try to add players that fits what the coaching staff is trying to do.

While I will admit that I have never been a fan of Dick Jauron, I truly feel that if he is going to lead our team, than we need to give him every weapon to succeed this year. I think that DJ and Russ tried to build an offensive line that is young, athletic, and aggressive. i feel that at least on paper they have accomplished that goal. This is why I don't feel that Levi Jones fits into our plans. Sure, he has had a couple good years, but he is injury prone, he does want a lot of money, and he has spend his entire time in the league with the Bengals. I know over the last few years we have not been the model franchise, but last thing I want is the Bengals castoffs. There locker room has been dysfunctional, and I do not want someone from there who is on the downside of his career to come in and disrupt the development of what I truly feel we are building. He has a reputation of not playing through injuries. I want guys who are going to do everything they can to stay on the field. While I am nervous for our new o-line, I feel like we should stick with what we have. The only other off season move I would make at this point is I would explore signing Tinoisamoa. He would fit in our system perfectly, and solve I think our last hole. The only reason STL released him is that fact that they are switching there scheme. The small athletic LB does not fit what they are doing now. Spagnolo had bigger LB's in NY, and is trying to do the same in STL with Laurinitis. I know that I am covering a couple of different things here, but I was just reading about the Bills off season, and how everyone in the national media is assuming that Buffalo is going to go after Levi Jones. I just do not think many of these experts have a grasp of what the Bills are trying to do. For the first time in a very long time, I am 100% on board with the off season moves so far, I would like to sign Tinoisamoa and I think we would be ready to compete for the AFC East title. What do you think?

By the way, Check out this clip on Tinoisamoa http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GJwcohkV30

Buffalo Rumblings Is Pettigrew worth it?

Let me start this off by saying I love a lot of things about Pettigrew. My only concern is I have a gut feeling that he reminds me of Kyle Brady. They have similair size, speed, supposed skill set. I personally think 3 years from now, Shawn Nelson is going to be the best overall TE in this draft. He has shown great hands, great speed for a TE (4.56 in the 40), and a willingness to block ( did anyone see how he put Maualuga on his butt). Can anyone put my mind at ease?
