Brett Favre being torn in half. Also, Roman warriors.

This is a Taiwanese animated news report about the recent "Bountygate" situation. It's in Taiwanese, but has English subtitles. It's also been 15 minutes since I watched it, and I'm still laughing.

Where NFL teams stand before the franchise tag deadline

A list which teams have used their franchise tag, which teams haven't, and who has been tagged. Current as of yesterday.

Ryan Pontbriand signs with the 49ers

I wish him well, but they already have a pro-bowl caliber long-snapper. I don't get this signing at all, even with the Brad Seely connection.

Browns hire new DB coach

Tim Hauck will replace Jerome Henderson, who left to reunite with Rob Ryan in Dallas. Hauck has past connections to Holmgren in Green Bay and Heckert in Philadelphia.

The NFL mic'd up Brian Cushing in Week 9's game vs. the Browns. Hilarity ensued.

Baskin & Phelps talk with Steve Everitt

Steve Everitt was interviewed on the Baskin & Phelps show on 92.3 The Fan about a month ago. The 14th pick in the 1993 draft, he played Center until 1995 when he moved with the team to Baltimore. He talks about the move and the effect it had on him, Art Modell and his continuing love and respect for Cleveland. If you have time, give it a listen. It's a really good interview.

Kyle Orton bids farewell to Denver (Video)

1. This is not actually Kyle Orton. 2. That's great news about the IKEA. Seriously.

Delhomme signs with Texans

After season-ending injuries to both Shcaub and Leinart, I guess they would be pretty desperate.

The New York Times predicts Sunday's game

This week, the Rams force three Browns safeties, as Colt McCoy keeps getting flagged for intentional grounding in the end zone. McCoy tries to argue that Chris Ogbonnaya and Montario Hardesty are eligible receivers, not radio contest winners who wandered onto the field wearing helmets, but the referees refuse to take him seriously. Nursing a 6-0 lead, the Rams make the fatal mistake of trying to play offense. They then punt to Josh Cribbs, who eludes all 11 defenders on a 99-yard return, carrying several teammates on his shoulders into the end zone. Meanwhile, Peyton Hillis steals all of the holiday decorations from local malls and promises 200 turkeys to a local charity, only to show up late with three cans of pumpkin pie filling.

Jerome Harrison was scheduled to undergo surgery on Friday for a brain tumor that was discovered...

Jerome Harrison was scheduled to undergo surgery on Friday for a brain tumor that was discovered during a physical after he was traded to the Eagles on Tuesday, according to the Detroit Free Press. The trade, which was to bring Ronnie Brown to the Lions, was voided and Detroit placed Harrison on the reserve/non-football injury list. "He was in very good spirits," said coach Jim Schwartz, who visited Harrison in the hospital Friday morning, to the Free Press. "But after that, I don't know if I want to talk too much. It's one of those things, it's a non-football thing, and I'll just let him take it away from that spot." The brain tumor might not have been found if not for the physical, and the Eagles' medical staff looked ordered an MRI after he told them he was experiencing headaches, according to Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia. The Lions, who will likely be without Jahvid Best (concussion) this Sunday, signed running back Eldra Buckley. Maurice Morris is expected to start against Atlanta, with Keiland Williams his backup. According to the Free Press, several Lions players said Harrison had been experiencing headaches - to the point that he was wearing sunglasses on the field during practice before he was fitted with a visor. "You don't really think about a brain tumor," linebacker Isaiah Ekejiuba told the paper. "You think about maybe a hard hit to the head, migraine, maybe a few days to get back and clear your head up, but you see how serious it can be."

Ask DBN on S&BP

I posted an "Ask DBN" fanpost. Come one, come all and let's talk some football.

Knowing Your Enemy: Ask Dawgs by Nature

Hey there S&BP. I'm Brian from over at DBN. First off, my condolences. Al Davis was one of the people who made football as we know it more than just the sum of its parts. In a few days, the Browns...
