It took some time for me to figure out why it was not ok for Purdue fans to root for Butler. Then it hit me, we compete with them for recruits, its unfortunate but true. Gordon Hayward had a Purdue scholly and Matty couldn't find a scholly for Matt Howard. These are 2 players we should have on the squad today. In the future recruiting against Butler would probably been more difficult if they won a title. That said ten years from now, no one will remember who won this years title, and anonymous Duke title will not be remembered or have little impact on nationwide recruiting, but a Butler title would've. With Crean getting his thing back together down there, Pitino constantly poaching Indiana, the last thing we need is another option for the top recruits. Thank god Duke won....
