The Sheriff

Mar 13, 2008 Mar 14, 2008 1 8

My parents were huge Angels fans in the 70's, and primarily the Ryan Express, o that's what I ended up being called. They named me Ryan after the great, Nolan Ryan. It's funny how things work out, because Nolan Ryan has turned out to be my favorite player of all time. My mom claims that she took me to one of his no-hitters in the 80's when I was really little...The only one in the early 80's that she could have taken me to would have been in Houston vs. the Dodgers in 1981. Well, she doesn't have a ticket stub, she thinks it was at the Big "A", and I KNOW she didn't fly me to Houston, yet she swears up and down that we watched one together. She's been known to get confused from time to time. I own a framed black and white picture taken of Nolan Ryan pitching his first pitch to "Last-Out" Amos Otis of the KC Royals during his first no-hitter in '73. It's autographed by both players. If you buy me a beer I may let you touch it. When I'm not on Halo's Heaven, or searching espn.com for trade updates, I sell health insurance to business owners. So, if you own a business, or plan on breaking your arm soon, you'll want to talk to me. My season tix are in the RF Pavilion MVP section, you'll know who am because I'm the loudest one out there. You'll need to know that info, so you can find me when you deliver that beer. Cheers.

The wonders of eBay!

So, all you BoSox haters will get a kick out of this...Today my package came in from eBay.  The day after the Super Bowl I went online and found a surplus of t-shirts printed up to celebrate the Patriots' 19-0, Super Bowl Championship season.  I know most of these are being shipped over seas to Africa, South America, or other impoverished nations since New England lost and they can't sell them in stores (I think it's fantastic that they do this, by the way, but there is something seriously funny to me about poor kids in Africa running around in 19-0 Patriots shirts...not the poor part, but the fact that they'll never have any idea...anyway, moving forward...).  $10 got me a grey, 19-0 Super Bowl Champions shirt.  Now I have something to wear when the Sox come to Anaheim stadium.  It'll look nice in my closet next to my Jesus hates the Yankees shirt until then.
