@TajGibson22 @RonnieBrewerJr @quietstorm_32 a lot of time left..
According to USA Today, Oklahoma City and Nate Robinson are currently working on a buyout. Why? Why not keep him on and let him just expire? For one, the roster spot. It frees Presti to use it on a D-Leaguer he likes or even to sign someone. Secondly, you have to pay him less, presumably. And third, OKC doesn’t need a fourth point guard. Robinson wasn’t happy at all with his situation in OKC and with Reggie Jackson now in the mix, the Thunder don’t have any plans for Robinson.
"The Magic have waived Jason Williams."
Back up PG who can shoot the 3? Yes please.

(Designated LeBron/Heats fanshot) Woj destroys LeBron (again)
Those summer rumors of GarPaxDorf refusing to give in to Lebron's "entourage demands" continue to seem somewhat justified.
Kyle Korver a Bull (3yrs, $15m)
[From the FanShots. - Like this deal, it's only 3 years and not implied to be starter money. Bulls need shooters everywhere. -ed.]
Ford on Simmons' podcast: Lebron's coming to Chicago
Chad Ford tells this story:
LeBron heard that after every Bulls game MJ went to Gibson's Steakhouse and sat at a specific table with a specific waiter. When in Chicago, Lebron goes to Gibson's and sits at that table with that waiter.
During the Chicago draft camp Chad Ford went to Gibson's, found the waiter, and asked him what he thought about Lebron. The waiter told him Lebron is coming, that Lebron had told him to reserve this table for him.
Lebron wants to be in "the shadow"
Coach Interviews to begin this week
I really would love to know why JVG, Byron Scott, and even Avery Johnson are not even being considered. Chicago Bulls: think small.
Tyrus officially benched
Not really news I suppose, but yep, we love our Taj Gibson.
JR Smith scores 41
Too bad we couldn't get a scorer like that on the Bulls
Taj Gibson on ESPN radio in LA last night
Excuse me for not having any direct quotes but 3 things I took away from the interview:
-He mentioned how Hunter tells them about being on the Lakers championship run and what it takes to win.--- Keep that mentoring coming LH, your Lakers stories are no doubt with your million dollar contract
-On the losing troubles of late: They have talent they just aren't playing with enough passion. ----I don't think he meant this as a dig on VDN, but if a coach can't get his players to play with passion...
-And here's why Gar PaxDorf loves him and why he's hard to hate despite limited skills: Asked what his first purchase was with his NBA money (they mentioned former SC teammate Nick Young bought huge earrings) Taj told them he took his little brother and kids from the neighborhood shopping for school supplies.
The Chicago Bulls: where caring happens and winning doesn't

Taj Gibson better be fricken amazing.
Jamal Crawford = PG superstar. Just ask Eddy Curry
Take Eddy Curry, for instance. Early in the 2006-07 season, Curry was on a tear, shooting nearly 60 percent from the field, averaging more than 20 points per game and even hearing faint whispers about an All-Star Game appearance. Then, in February, the wheels fell off. Crawford went out for the season with an ankle injury, and all Curry's numbers dropped except one: turnovers. Curry was still getting touches, but no one else knew how to get him the ball in spots where he could be successful. Granted, Curry has always had hands of stone, but in April of that season he was up to nearly five turnovers a game.
Needless to say, Crawford, who averages more than four assists per game for his career, was missed.
The Eddy Curry Show returns
Simply amazing. I'd say he should quit basketball and do this full time, but come on, Eddy Curry doesn't play basketball
"ya never know, look at Vinny Del Negro" - Mark Cuban telling Bill Simmons his plea to be an NBA GM isn't all that far fetched given that VDN became coach of the Bulls. It's amazing, so amazing!

The Rondo Elbow
click on picture #29. If Dwight Howard got suspended, I don't see how Rondo can't. But he probably won't be.
Van Gundy, Abbott call it a Flagrant
[From the FanShots. This is an embarrassing admission by Van Gundy, saying that flagrants should be called differently in close and late games. He's off my coach search list. Or maybe not, since that strategy works for the C's. -ed.]
Van Gundy can be heard via on link on the espn homepage. JVG think it should have been called in the first 3 quarters, but not the 4th. Regardless, he agrees it fits the definition of a flagrant
Simmons skewers Vinny/NBA coach interviews
Answer I wish Del Negro had given: "Getting off to a good start was much more important for me than the team. I'm such a basket case that my dad decided to sit on the bench with me for the playoffs. No, really -- he's right over there. If we win, he said he's going to take me out for ice cream!"
haha
More No Class Vinny
I wasn't able to watch the game and it's had to tell form the clip, but after Wade misses the layup in overtime it appears that Vinny is once again talking smack and getting in his face and Wade brushes him off. Why doesn't he worry about coaching his own players, not yelling at the opponents.
Cameron, Chicago: I had read that OKC was going to be gunning for Ben Gordon this summer. Does the trade for Chandler change that?
Chad Ford: Depending on where they pick in the draft, the team will still have something like $7 to $8 million in cap space left. That's probably more than enough to get Ben Gordon.Wow, I'll laugh if after twice turning down 10 mil a year the slumping economy and lower salary cap dictate BG signing for 7 million with the Thunder

If we get Amare, do we fire or keep VDN?
I've never been a fan of the VDN hiring. The boneheadedness he demonstrated in the Heat game by having Rose on the bench, a cold Thabo throwing the ball in, and Tyrus not playing the inbounder on the final play, are in my opinion, more than enough to fire him and have angry peasents drive him out of town with pitchforks.
Yet, for the moment, he is still the coach. If we get Amare the Bulls will be entering a new era. It's my opinion, that this would be a perfect time to fire Vinny. If Paxson, Reindorf believe that Vinny won't last his contract, if he'll probably be fired at the end of the season, why pollute the next few months with a lame duck coach? To start the Rose/Stoudamire era with a rookie coach orchastrating what should be an amazing 1-2 punch and continuing to oversee Rose's development seems like a mistake. I'd say fire VDN and let Del Harris, a proven coach who's won COY honors, take the reigns of the new look Bulls. VDN does not deserve the chance to screw this up. I don't want to let him. Just as PHX is firing Terry Porter to give themselves a fresh start with hopefully their Amare-less team, I say we do the same.
However, the devil's advocate would say: VDN already knows Amare from working the front office in PHX. He knows how to tailor the game to best fit Amare's strenghts. He's the perfect man for the job and the trade for Amare would effectively let him "start the year over". Besides, if the trades works as commonly proposed, now he wouldn't be able to put Thabo in at the end of the games or start Drew Gooden over our best power forward.
What do you think?
Thabo admits he's an idiot
"I was really looking at Ben, so I don't know who was open.''
Arrest Warrant: Jason Caffey
Meanwhile I saw Dickie Simpkins doing color for college basketball. Oh how the roads diverge....

Hollywood gossip must be slow if TMZ is reporting on failed Bull power fowards. Maybe we can get a Dickey Simpkins update while they're at it
