I've been following the Bills since the days of Joe Ferguson. I'm as passionate about music as I am the Bills.

As my nick implies: i'm a huge Afghan Whigs / Twilight Singers fan.

a fan of

Buffalo Bills National Football League Team

Usain Bolt Other Team(s)

Boston Celtics National Basketball Association Team

While the discussion is usually centered around Gabbert's physical attributes, it's his mind that may serve to benefit him most in the NFL.

Skewed a bit by playing the Patritots and Jets twice, this still is a little disconcerting to me. It's important to note the SOS is a bit out of whack because it's based on last year's results, and we all know a team can do a 180 from one season to the next.

Conveniently, the Panthers will face the most difficult SOS next season.

Amazing.

Buffalo Rumblings My Friend of Misery

After reading a short while ago that Brian St. Pierre will be starting at QB for the Panthers this Sunday, I had to hop over to SBN's Cat Scratch Reader to see how the Panthers' faithful were taking it. What I found, once there, was a surprise.

Buffalo Rumblings Drafting Without Luck

Disclaimer: This is not a mock draft. I have little ability to competently render one so early in the process.

We're a divided bunch here lately. Some of us are happy - perhaps simply relieved - that the Bills will not go 0-fer on the season (waving my hand here). The rest of you in the crowd likely let out a bit of a guilty groan when the Lions failed to dine on the previously winless feast laid out by the Buffalo Bills.

Why the divide? The draft. We're all looking waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead to the draft this year. I've seen myriad comments and articles laying out who'd pick where should the season end today. Folks, let's face it. The Bills are not the worst team in the league. They're simply one of a few very bad teams with inconsistent, often uninspired play. One that could likely use a true face of the franchise at QB.

The quality suffers from transfer degradation, but for those of you unable to see the game, I thought this would be enjoyable.

Buffalo Rumblings Training Camp Notes: 8-16-10

To get right to the point, things from the starting offense didn't look really good. Of course we're not talking about Spiller. Folks, this kid can run, and it might just be enough to make up for poor outside blocking at points during this season. I'm convinced there will be plenty of those occurrences.

I spent the bulk of the evening watching the offense, so any analysis on the defensive effort will be sparse. They looked good, as a whole unit.

Follow the jump for more on what I observed tonight.

Buffalo Rumblings Baltimore's Troy Smith Likely Slated as 3rd-String QB

With Marc Bulger set to sign on with Baltimore for over 3 million as a backup this season, it appears likely that Troy Smith won't get his chance in Baltimore. While it's highly suspect (to me) that Bulger is a better option to back up Flacco than Smith is, the reality is that they feel better with the oft-injured vet.

Poll
So Where does Troy Smith fit on your radar?
Yes! Let's hope Buffalo pursues (and succeeds in) landing him.

No thanks! Been there. Done that. He's damaged goods.

Sure, why not. It can't get much worse for the position.

Hmm. Let me get back to you.

Buffalo Rumblings It's go time

We're finally here! No more this spring shall we have to say "final," "last," "one more," or even "mock." The time has come for the new regime to begin assembling college talent to (hopefully...eventually) lead this organization back to its once-winning ways.

Buffalo Rumblings Walking Down Hypothetical Ave

We haven't discussed Sam Bradford much around these parts, for obvious reasons, aside from Buffalonian's engaging post a few days ago. Sam Bradford is far and away the top-rated football-throwing talent in the 2010 draft, and there are a few teams ahead of the Bills who are undoubtedly in need of an improvement. So yes, it's quite simple to understand why we haven't thought much of the Bills' opportunity to land him.

For the sake of keeping things fresh around here, let's enter into a supposed conversation.....

Buffalo Rumblings Channeling Lynch's Inner "William Wallace"

Much like Sir William Wallace valiantly led the Scots into war against the English, Marshawn Lynch possesses an unmatched ability to lead his over-matched team to victory. Well, there was a point in time at least  when he could claim those victories. Lately, things have changed. We've begun to see the William Wallace at Falkirk in Lynch -- the Wallace who met  an ugly defeat and, eventually, his tragic fate.

Buffalo Rumblings How safe are the Bills defensive vets?

Let me start by saying that I don't have exact figures, but listening to Paul Hamilton this morning on 550, he rattled off figures over an alarming stat: the defense's inability to get off the field on 3rd down. Yes, I know this is nothing new if you've been a fan of the team and followed them closely during the past 3 years...

Two pillars in the Buffalo business community discuss the dark cloud that is the future of the Bills in Buffalo.

Someone wake this guy up. He has the Bills selecting Malcolm Jenkins, then Raji going to Broncos the pick after the Bills. Madness, I tell you. Madness!

Buffalo Rumblings Flux Capacitor set to: Bills Draft History

With the most recent news centered around Mr. Owens' signing with Buffalo and all of our brains on fire thinking about the season to come, I thought it'd be great to take a look back at the team's draft history. (Thanks to NFL.com.)

Buffalo Rumblings Is KC Joyner insane?!

http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-5-75/Losman-to-Jets--Joyner-likes-that-idea.html

Or is he correct in making the statements that Losman is talented when asked NOT to just manage a game?

I have long felt the organization's biggest faux pas is not letting their QBs play the game.

What say yee? I think it'd be hilarious if they got to face him twice a year. It'd be a bit of payback for all those years of his maze-running.

Buffalo Rumblings Homecoming with John Elway

I just got through viewing this tonight. Man, he was always one of my favorite players to watch.

He said his ultimate goal was the Super Bowl, not the Hall of Fame and not the Pro Bowl. While that sounds like a no-brainer, it seems lacking in today's NFL for the most part.

When asked about his dream job, aside from football, he answered "Owner of the NFL franchise in LA." It would be great were he to be a "player" in the purchase of the Bills, but not if it meant they move to LA.

Interesting, no?

So, why do I mention this on our Beloved Bills Blog? Because his is the attitude and the determination that so many on the current Bills roster lack. Sure, things started a bit murky with his refusal to play for the Colts.

So not to turn this into an Elway discussion, but I thought a couple of his points have merit with the team we all love.
